Most of the money will be used to pay back some of my Overdraft which i used this week to put towards my deposit on my new car (Getting it monday - cant wait)

Also been ebaying and made £300+ ish in the last 2 months having a big clear out!

    Hi everyone,

Hope every one is doing well with the savings.

Just a little update from me as I havent posted on here in ages! As of the 01/04/10 I have just over £17,000 which I am really pleased about as I was hoping to reach £17,000 but didnt think I would get there this month :)

I am hoping to reach £17,750 this month as I need to pay for the rest of the holiday that I have just been on, the second one this year so far. lol.

I have an appointment tomorrow to set up my ISA for this year, so hopefully I will see some difference in the interest I get..... will see. lol.

    Hope your alright Lokolo.

    xx

I'm still waiting to put money into my new ISA, I wish they would hurry up and send me the details! I'm itching to get it out of my regular bank account so I can see it nicely saved out of harms way! I have the egg money manager with my savings account and you can see the balance of all your accounts with other banks too which I really like.

Savings not doing too well so far this month, I went over budget last week, might just scrape under this week, and its the holidays so no supply work for the first two weeks of april :( Hopefully i'll be nice and busy for the next two weeks!

Those of you that save monthly, do you only count money that you are actually paid that month or do you still count it if you've earned it but not received it yet? If that makes sense! For example, I will get paid for any temp work I do in the last week of the month the following week, in the next month. I only count it when it's in my bank but I wondered what other people did?

    Happy saving!:rotfl:

Savings not going too well here as some expenses have cropped up that I didn't bank on (expensive medication for my cat) so I don't think my semi-regular expenses fund (which I'm trying to build up to a minimum of £1k to avoid dipping into ISA savings for things) isn't going to see much action at this rate. Just £10 transferred over today.

ljaneyr - I only count what's actually in my bank account but that's mostly because I'm freelance, and clients have a nasty habit of not actually paying up sometimes so I figure that it's safer to only count what I've definitely received just in case.
ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

    Poor you lot!

My grandparents SO came in today (I am not quite sure why they are still giving me money whilst I am not at uni). So I have put this into uni savings. They have given me a lump sum to pay my accommodation each year (hence why I can save so much) but with the fact they are still paying me at the moment, when they ask how much I need I will just take the amount I have saved off.

Been asked to go to Hammersmith next Friday to see Rod Gilbert comedian guy. Should be good. Train from Hammersmith -> Soton will be a hit though!

That must be rubbish, my OH is a builder and there have been loads of times when people have refused to pay or pay the agreed amount. He worked out once that he worked for 6 weeks at £3 an hour because the guy had been refused a loan and not told them until they finished! If I work through the council it takes up to 2 months to come through which is pretty annoying but at least i do get it!

I got my wages from some work I did a few weeks ago and added it £53 to the money I owed my mum, so now I am on £2802/£3600 for her and £125 for my general savings (I know I should give that to her but she isn't desperate for it and its all sorted out just in a kind of wierd way!! Should be getting some money tomorrow though for my last student loan payment!

actually I've allready got my student loan come through and wierdly is it more than the last installment even though I thought you got way less this term as I am graduating so theoretically don't need enough to last me the summer... ah well, I guess I'll be doing some budget reports tonight when I'm back at uni and trying to sort it all out..

Wahoo! Finally got new ISA account details and paid in last months savings at long long last :D

However, like quintwins I am thinking of spending on a holiday, well a festival anyway  I am cross with myself but just one glance at the download festival website and i'm desperate to go :o. Now I just need to convince my OH, get time off work and save £180  for a ticket. Luckily we won't need to buy much except a new tent pole which some kind drunk bloke broke for us last time we went.

I think I'll have to amend my goal of 'save as much as possible as quickly as possible' to 'save as much as possible while still enjoying life' :o
