I don't think there will be many better ISAs out in the next few weeks. Am intrigued to see how much mine has earned and then going to take the some what odd step of moving it to a slightly lower earning account but one where I can access it online as hopefully it will be used as a house deposit soon and would like all my savings visible and easily accessible. Not sure if to fill it up at the beginning of the year as I have the money available or wait until I have bought a new place (judging on my currrent situation that could be a very long wait though).0

Quick question about regular saver accounts - I opened mine last June and made first deposit then, does it mature (as such) this May?0

I share your pain, sister. Both the ISAs I had my eye on are now unavailable. I was going to transfer previous years to Aldermore, but they've closed all applications till the new year, and I wanted Santander for my 2010/11 ISA
And then I learn that I could have applied for Santander a a week ago, for next year's subscription - but at that rate, if only I'd askedTarget Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

They normally mature the anniversary of account opening. So the interest is paid on that date.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Really??? ARGH.
I might just go for the Lloyds Vantage account - it pays 4% (gross) on balances between £5k-£7k, which now works out the same as the Santander ISA (3.2% net), but I can put an extra £1,900 in it. Then I will open a new ISA *when* a decent one comes along.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I know they say you should never settle but I think I'm going to stick with Halifax and accept the 2.6%
Even though that's exactly what they want me to do!
Grrr.
As for this year's money... no idea. I really don't want to commit myself to any of the pants accounts that are out right now. Maybe in a week's time with the new tax year we'll have something a bit more exciting.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

I don't tbh, but only because I do my budget by calendar month, so even if I get paid on the 27th (or whatever date), it counts towards next month's budget. So I'm even sadder than you! Oh and I do always get very excited when I see my yearly ISA interest added woo hoo!!! :jGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Just wanted to give my update. I put £91 into my savings account. I was so excited as it's the first proper savings that I have ever done!! Woo hoo, doing a litle happy jig :rotfl:
I know it's not very much but it's little tiny baby steps at first. I've also devised my own monthly excel budget sheet which is really helping me keep on track with my daily spending.
I do feel a little overwhelmed when I see how much everyone else has saved. It makes me wish I'd sorted myself out years ago.MFW 2012 #145 - Overpayments - £0.00/£20000
