Hey everyone I would like to join! I've just subscribed and I am going to think of a target! I think I want to save about £1000 of my own money until my birthday (may) but I am not sure how easy this will be!
I have 6K at the moment (put some in today to make it a nice round number!) and I have £1000 from my mum, and about £1000 from my student loan I can put in (I have enough to live off for a term at the moment I think) and my bf owes me £350, so that should take me to approx £8400, Shall I set £9500 as my target? what do you think?
I want it to be realistic, but I want it to be a bit of a challenge!
Ps I am a student with no real income so all I can do is save instead of spend, and do the little extras etc, I should have about £150 coming in from holiday work though, and I am at my dooyoo cashout level...

Be a devil and go for 10k :D

You can probably see £9500 as a safe bet all going well but 10k more of a challenge

aw lol bless thanks, perhaps I will aim for 10K! eeek!! I think it depends on how much I get for my loan, and how much all my bills come to etc..
I'm seeing £1000 from mum, £1100 ish from loan, £300 from boyf (which is mine anyway) so that means I need £1600 from thin air!! in 5 months!! I can probs get about £40 of interest from the bank in this time... so thats a start... screw it, im gonna go for it!
  • its so nice to see everyone setting goals for themselves. i would like to have 25K by this time next year - ive got some really expensive months coming up and trying to pay everything off before i start saving properly again. would really like to have 22k by my birthday (august), but see what happens :D

hopefully be able to update my sig later today as i am going down to the bank, should have hit the £15k mark...... maybe

Changed my target to £6500 instead as that is how much i need to pay off the wedding plus have some spending money. Still not sure i'll achieve it but as close to this as possible would be nice.

Well i think savings will be stuck at £700 until debt free. Is there a savings account(3%+) with a cashline card?
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
