That's great - well done. It's payday for me too - but instead of getting my money by BACS like normal I got paid by cheque so have had to transfer money out of savings to cover my mortgage till it clears!......0 -
Hi all
Pay day today and I've now hit my year end target of £20k!
It's been a bit of a slog at times but I'm pleased with the achievement! Will set a new target for 2011 in January, likely £30k but a full £10k in a year is going to be pretty tough. Hope everyone is getting along well and keep up the good work!Member of the 'How Much Can You Save' Forum.
Current target = £20k by 2010. Progress = 102%0 -
I have no money. I don't get paid til next week (but some cashback at the end of the week). Luckily I went home this weekend mum gave me some petrol money wooo. I already have enough food so thats ok.
Going to be a tight week! Then payday comes and I go on xmas shopping spree yey!0 -
A quick update, then...
I've not earned any more this weekend (having a much-needed computer-free couple of days) but I did manage to save myself some money - fixed my car and solved an issue which had been putting my fuel consumption up a lot, and causing lots of stalling. 20 minutes soldering (and about an hour trying to take bits off) has saved me £120 in parts and up to £10 a week in petrol.
I've also become inundated with freelance work, which is great, and have overtime for my day job too! As long as I can keep myself working hard, December should be a decent month in terms of saving.
Still no word from my accountant on a possible tax rebate, though.Saving target: £10,000 by 1 November 2010

Payday here too. And another £250 swept in to savings and £40ish to my car service fund. Am really pleased as I've saved £800 this month and hit my end of year target. Not sure whether to set another target as it'll all disappear when I buy my next flat after selling the current place which seems to be taking ages). But the saving goes on anyway.0

End of the month means another payment to the ISA account. Only £150 this month but put another 150 into my holiday account as well.
Still aiming for 25k sometime next year before I pay off a large part of my mortgageSave save save!!0 -
Ok now that my pay is weedling it's way to my account i know where i am for my end of year update.
Savings total £35k
Savings in the last year £15-20k
I've managed £1500-1600 pm from the start of the tax year so i'm well pleased with that.
Totals target for next year end is £50k + unless i find something worthwhile to spend it on
Well done to everyone and this thread has helped me reach my target :T
Give us an update bendix as we miss your posts :money:0 -
Only managed £150 this month but I should be able to add more to the ISA later this month when I get paid and receive some money that's owed to me. Total savings are now £9,100 (I'm not counting what's in the VSP account in my signature as that's money that I'm anticipating having to dip into for various things sooner or later). I'm hoping to get close to the £10k mark early next year so wish me luck!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0
