    £489 saved this month :)

    Also got a letter through from EDF energy saying I have £950 credit on my electricity account. Must have overpaid that a bit hehe.

    Looking at about 21k now saved, just hoping to get to 25 so I can pay off half my mortgage. Rang Halifax and just have to send them the cheque when I reach the total.

    Getting there...

    Franchise. More than likely Dominos or Pap Johns. But it is 7 year away yet. Need a minimum of £80k capital :eek::eek:

    I worked at Dominos for a number of years so know a lot of the ins and outs already :)

    And I have the entrepenereruewriodf skills of a wombat so I won't be starting from scratch with this one!
  • Things are going ok for me at the moment, i haven't saved anything for the last 3 months due to putting £500 a side each month for my car insurance tax and everything. The cheapest quote i got was £1300 but i checked a different compare site yesterday and found one for £900 so i am £400 better off which i am happy about so i can save that. I am making the most of saving at the moment as i have applied for Uni now so it wont be long before i am living off a bursrary and will only be able to manage to save £50 a month.

    Not saving £10,000 for a car anymore off for a cheaper one of around £5000 which although it is better for me i now am not as determined as i already have £5000 but i want a bit more for what i call emergencies as you don't know what the future holds. Overall i am trying to stay motivated and keep saving between £400-£500 a month for the next few months and hopefully it wont be too much of a worry to reach my target when i am at uni and i can relax a bit.
    :j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j
    £7200/£9000 77% there!

    I feel this is the perfect thread to write my first post... Firstly, hurrrooo everyone =]
    I have recently become debt free (earlier in the year). I am now looking at saving;
    1. to get on the property ladder
    2. to have a bit finacial security so I don't end up in debt again
    I am coming up 27 and my target is that by the time I am 30 I want £12,000.00 +
    I am going to go to my bank for advice but I am looking using an ISA and some e saving account plus possibly a homebuyers account for a large amount of funds I currently have which will be fee's coverage for property.
    So far I have £4600.00 - I think the 4k will be the amount to get locked away in a homebuyers account or simular. If anyone has any further advice please contact me, I am very very new to saving money!!! lol
