I have a existing isa with natwest and they have offered for me to open up a isa plus with them, which they say is exactly the same but higher interest rate. ive read on here how a couple of people how said they sometimes lower the interest rate afew months down the line after they are done trying to attract customers. if this happens, can i just transfer the new fund into my old isa account?0

Happy new year everyone! Was anyone else as big a geek as me yesterday - I invited all my colleagues for a New Years drink at lunchtime... they accepted so I'm not the world's only loser, I guess.
Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I applied for the Natwest Cash ISA Plus yesterday, and it still hasn't appeared on my online banking!!! What's more, when I completed the application, they gave me the sort code and account number, and I'm sure it said my account was ready to start funding. Tried to send money yesterday and got this message:
The beneficiary bank has advised that they are unable to accept this payment as the sort code/account number combination is incorrect. Please contact the person you are paying to confirm the account details. (H69)
I assumed I'd been trying too early, as it was only half hour or so since I'd applied. But I tried again now and get the same message!!! I don't like all this slowness, HSBC might have crap rates but at least I never have to wait for anything.
Anyone else opened an ISA with Natwest in the last few days?Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

JimLad - I've been trying to transfer from NS&I to Halifax for 6 weeks now. Apparently the transfer was finally sent to Halifax on 31st March, but Halifax have no record of having received it. Their advice on the phone today was that they couldn't start looking properly until next Tuesday, and then it will take 4 days to confirm whether they actually have the cheque or not.
In contrast, a recent transfer from Lloyds to Derbyshire BS took 2 weeks and went without a hitch.MumOf4Quit Date: 20th November 2009, 7pm

I'm guessing that they came for the drinks rather than because it was the financial new year...0 -
I'm feeling better now after spending nearly all of my savings on a car! Do have another outgoing now though (the car payments) but i have the savings for it so wont be too bad.
Booked my holiday for this year to and it was my bf's birthday so next month should be a lot better for saving rather than spending!
target is now 5k0 -

Nah, they appreciated the importance of it! I think...
I should have been more patient with NatWest. It appeared on my online banking yesterday morning. But, now I'm locked out and waiting for a new activation code. I am 100% sure I got my user number, PIN and password correct, but they've still locked me out, and are posting the new code, so I wont get it til next weekI don't know how to cope with not checking my balance.

Hi again!
Just thought I would inpart a little money saving idea.... It was my friend's birthday recently. I managed to find her an assortment of some 'never used presents' lying around my room, eg. photo frame, ornament, classy bag etc, kept over the years, which I put together for her in a bundle and wrapped with some beautiful wrapping paper and ribbon from Poundland with tag attached. My overall outlay????!!!! A POUND! Well, what a result in these testing economic times. Incidentally, another small tip for you ...... Poundland do wrapping paper in a plastic tube complete with ribbon and tag. The wrapping paper is very colourful and very thick/strong and much better than the average paper in the card shops. I am going to get some more soon, it's wonderful.
Talking of tips, I placed two bets on the recent Grand National. Well, Comply or Die was one (came 2nd) and my other bet was the one that came third!!!!! Kerching!!! goes 45 quid, lol! Just as well that I had those odd presents lying around!!!!!!

PS. I hope you don't think I am stingy, prefer to think of myself as economic......
