That will go fine on ebay save-a-lot. I put all my dvds on ebay a couple of months back as I don't watch them more than once and realised it was just a compulsive thing collecting them.

I put 20 or 30 of them all on for 99p with 1.50 postage and sold most of them in 5 days. Walked away with a couple of hundred quid which went straight into my savings.

But back on topic, I have not saved anything this month yet, but hopefully should be able to squeeze £100 into my wages account at the end of the month.

I have an old but decent (manufactured by Giant) full suspension mountian bike - is this good to sell on eBay or privately for example?

I would try your luck at selling privately or look for a site online like exhange and mart or loot. If you get no luck, then go for ebay.

    Hope this helps

  • I've rationalised some of my accounts over xmas and new year. I did have some small debts but I have paid everyting off to start a fresh in 2007.

I now have £5951.41 and am putting £250pm in a Halifax Regular Saver and £300pm in a Halifax Web Saver.

My ISA is maxed out till April and I'll then transfer the funds from my websaver in there.

Instead of the websaver I was with ICICI but I have just ditched them today as last week they took a double DD from my account and caused me £30 in charges.

My friend works for the bank so she removed the charges for me but I am not telling ICICI that ;)

This year I will get £6600.00 in rent from a property I have.

I am aiming for 15K minimum by December 07 if I don't buy another property this year.

    Keep it up everyone :o

I have been having the same ICICI. I haven't been able to cancel the Direct Debit, does anyone know how to do it. I just want to put money in there when I want to.

    Thanks

As I understand it you can't cancel the direct debit with ICICI as that is the only way they say you should be using the account, somewhere on here there is a sort code so you can push the money in when you want to but I can't remember where it was. Also if you cancel the direct debit there would be no way to withdraw money as that is the only option they offer to do so.

    Hi

I am interested to know where people save into, for me it is

West Brom 1 year fixed bond (I think at 5.64 gross)
Birmingham Midshires high interest account (I think paying 5.25% gross)
    £3K in NS&I Direct ISA 5.55%
£75/month SAYE scheme (almost matured and on target for being worth £10K :T )
£40/month into daughters Halifax Save 4 it account (plus al my spare change into her piggy bank).
whatever is left over from salary goes into linked NatWest savings account until there is enough to shift across into an ING account (I know that is not the best place)

Ive got £350 a month going into two Halifax Regular Savers paying 10% and 7%. £250 going into my LLoyds Regular Saver paying 8% and i have £3,600 sitting in an Online Saver and will be there until i decide where to put it.

I am a bit wary of putting my money in a bond for a period of time in case the interest rates go up significantly whilst its locked in.

I've seen someone else post about a 10% Halifax Regular Saver - could you tell me where I can find more info on this please? I have a 7% one already but can't find anything on the 10% one anywhere.

    cheers
