To everyone here: When you have your savings, is it just deposit or interest which is put back into the account??

As things currently stand after recieving my Interest for the month I am now £140 short of my milestone. I am so anxious to get over my milestone as soon as so I can stay above it and build my savings further. The last few months have been difficult and I expect a few more difficult months or even years due to unforeseen circumstances.

I second that, it really helps me to hear how well others are doing, and spurs me on to try harder :)

Haven't posted on this site for a while but will be doing so in the future, . Have to say, very impressed with your savings skills so far Dacouz and your determination. Makes me feel that I can really move forward with my saving goals too. Thanks!

Although I am a little older than you, I am probably in about the same income bracket and on a good month, I am able to save about 800 pounds a month.

Could you please tell me where the competition area is in layman's terms, lol, as I am being a bit thick here  and need some guidance. I have thought about entering competitions in the past. Incidentally, there is a good Heads or Tails competition being held by the Independent Newspaper at mo. You have to basically answer 5 questions - the first are heads or tails questions (you text the answer to them) and the last answer is usually numerical and the winner is the one closest to that figure, providing you have already answered the 4 questions correctly. Well, they seem to be running the competition weekly. The first week I got all questions right and I would have been only 8 points off the FTSE 100 prediction (should have taken my dad's advice on that!!!) - as it was, I texted another figure DOH!!! I could have been 10,000 pound richer which is the prize.

Anyhow, I'd be curious to find the competition link on this site and happy saving Dacouz - you are doing extremely well so far for such a 'young' saver - hope that doesn't sound too patronizing - not intended....:D Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the nice message and thanks to Lokolo who posted the link to the Competetions Forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.html?f=72

You do actually have a good chance of winning prizes if you enter enough competitions. I started entering competitions in October 2008 and have won about £2000 worth of prizes that I have either kept for myself or sold on eBay. Sure it can be a bit tiresome to enter all these comps after a long day at work but it is proving not to be a waste of time and is helping me on my way to £30,000 by the end of 2009. All the best

Thats my Phone now sold and posted away - For a profit of £195 when you deduct postage and Ebay fees.

And thats me now over my major milestone but I am likely to drop back underneath by a couple of hundred until payday because I am likely to be spending some money over the next couple of months.

I am feeling very pleased at the moment! I bought a new computer several months ago thinking 'can I justify buying this?'. My last computer had been a hand-me-down from my friend, and I felt a bit guilty buying a new one after the old one packed in. But I set myself a challenge - to earn via Quidco the amount I had paid for the computer. And I've done it!!! :D:D

I know you can't bank on Quidco always paying out, but I've had over half the total paid to me so far and am optimistic that I'll get the rest. I actually had a payment of £44 today which prompted me to check my earnings balance - and it's up to what I paid for the computer so it has paid for itself. Wahey!!! I am due a new mobile soon too, so that'll be another few quid to add to my balance.

Thats cool. If next year goes well for me in savings terms I wil build myself a high tech gaming PC to satisfy my geek needs, but it means I will need to save an extra £1,000 on top of what I am aiming so it will be tough!
