Welcome newbies!
Just had to share...I have just paid off the 2nd of 3 credit cards :money:
So now only owe £5,600 unstead of £11,550!! Oh and have very little savings nowbut the debt is going down. I will be properly saving again soon
(Now just need to find a better ISA/ savings account to save in til April then pay ALL the debt off!!)
Aw wow!Way to go! Having little debt is better than having savings in the long run anyway

Everything that goes through my debit card ends up on MS Money so I will keep up with where it goes
I know what you mean about being able to keep track of stuff when you use cards. When I was an undergrad I used to take a little red book everywhere with me and write down every spend - it had columns for purse, grad account and savings account which all had totals and if I spent anything or earnt anything I entered a row in my book. Even had to write a row once with a debit of 20p from my 'purse' with the exlaination 'dropped under a car and can't reach'!
Now I record everything in MS Money - which can do budgets as well as predicting how much you will spend based on past trends - it must think I am v generous though - cos it trends a lot for 'gifts' hmmmm maybe I should stop buying presents for others...0 -

Yay for you! 1 month 4 days... that's not bad, either! I always thought if the FSCS was ever to be used, it'd take MONTHS to sort out. I'm sure it's not felt like a short time to you, but I must say I'm rather impressed by that.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Well abbey appears to have "lost" my application for an ISA from 2 weeks ago so i re-applied today!
Its currently 5.5% which i know is a bit lower than some of the top ones but my other account is with them and im willing to sacrafice a bit in order to use a high street bank and see all my money in one place.
Hopefully i should be able to put £3600 in that straight away then continue saving around £500 per month into my esaver account until next financial year when i can double my ISA!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Hmmm, you've just reminded me, I saw an interesting poster in the window of Abbey earlier and I think I should do some research now...Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

I must have been dreaming. I thought I saw an instant access account a 6%, but it's not on their website. I wish I'd gone over and had a look now.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
