I had an ISA with Egg - is this the one that was 6.30% and then went down to 6.05%? I got mine in 2007... never again!!! Setting it up was fine, but transferring out was an absolute nightmare. Shame, as I like Egg otherwise!
Just had a look at their other accounts and the rates are pitiful so I think I'll be steering clear of them!
Re ISA rates, I have a fixed one at the moment - it's not available now, but I'm sure there are still some fixed deals out there?
SuzeJust noticed Egg's rate changeI'm with Lucy, going to stick with them for a bit - I've become 'used' to them and like being able to access the aacount online. Going to save myself the hassle and see if the rates pick up (although it doesn't sound like the base rate will be helping any time soon). With most ISAs tracking the base rate, if I change to one of the better paying ones, what's to stop them lowering their interest rate?

I would be below average then although I alone are in the 8th decile group. But I guess average salary doesn't mean the same as what the majority of UK employees earn, because that would be 200 pounds according to that graph on the IFS website.
Hmm. Perhaps we "scored" high as there are 4 of us working. Generally, it probably means 2 adult households, I'd guess, hence our joint incomes would be fairly high if it was only 1 or 2 wage earners.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

You're right, I guess the numbers like average income of 476/week make more sense if they consider it per average household of 2 earners because obviously it's not very believable that the average salary per person is 35k.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

I just got 40p interest!!! FORTY PENCE!!!
Okay, it's in a rubbish account, at only 1.25% or something, and it's only there temporarily til I get a card reader from Natwest, but still 40p is pathetic.
I think banks need to join my round numbers OCD club. They should round UP all interest to the nearest £5Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

LOL! And I thought my 50p interest was bad!
As for the round numbers OCD club, consider me a member! I've just rounded up my interest to the nearest £10 – I'm tidying up messy numbers and hopefully my savings will a grow a bit quicker too!If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
I'm being hit by my money being in transit a lot this month. Still, my ISA should pay out an okay amount at the end of the month, as I've added a thousand to it.. which should counteract the rate fall.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
