We are now close to our £20k mark for a deposit... going quite well and any small extras we save are going towards it too.

I saw Dark Knight and loved it, apart from the fact that in our particular cinema the sound was distorted and too loud, and the sound technician had gone home, so it was like that for the whole movie... such a shame about Heath as this movie would have propelled him further into movie mania, the role is so so different to anything he had done before.

I like Pierce as much as the next gal (prefer Brad) but someone said something about him the other day that had me in fits of laughter - that it's not Pierce that has talent, it's his eyebrow :rotfl:

  • Good on you, buying a nice dress! We all have to have our treats ;)

Dark Knight is very good, but really disturbing at the same time. I almost broke my boyfriend's fingers - I tend to squeeze HARD when I jump or see something scary!

I loved Mamma Mia, but I couldn't see it more than once in a few weeks... that'd kill it for me. Pierce Brosnan looks a lot like my dad (same age too), so I can't really feel any attraction to him. Colin Firth though... He's old enough to be my dad too!

Oops, clicked submit before I'd finished - I went to Mamma Mia - I have always quite fancied both Pierce and Colin, but I'm sorry, Colin has been spoilt for me now - I can't fantasise about him any more - it was a sad night as I left the cinema!!

Just found this thread and think i have found my home on mse!!! i love the old style boards and the debt threads as they encourage me to save, but i need somewhere to post, so think this thread may be it...i am on page 2 of the thread and will read them all but will take me a week or so....
i just need to save like mad for my future as i don't have a pension and am going to include anything and everything i 'save' by not buying when i normally would, plus extra monies earnt, quidco, vouchers, points etc.
i did a car boot sale last week and made £51 profit :j so was well pleased and going back tomorrow for another one as we had stuff left over, so that will be going on my total which i shall start from last week.
i think i am going to enjoy this thread....:T

    Hi EagerLearner, LucyTheDwarf, et al....

Firstly, well done EagerLearner being close on to your 20k deposit, hope I can catch up with you soon. Yep, those small extras soon build up so keep going with those.

Have to say, your remark about the fact your film Dark Knight was sound distorted, too loud and the technician had gone home really made me laugh!!:rotfl: Appeals to my black sense of humour, I guess! What's this about Heath though? I didn't quite understand your comment there so please explain that if get a mo. Thanks.

Secondly, LucyTheDwarf - thanks for your encouragement on me buying my new dress. I really don't feel so guilty now and I quite agree that we need to treat ourselves once in a while (or more than once!) :D . Funny, your comment about Pierce Brosnan looking like your dad because I have that same comment made about my dad (some going as far to say he also looks a bit like Nick Faldo, the golfer, lol!). Not sure where the similarities are myself .

Anyway, really enjoying this thread and see that some newcomers have got the bug too - it really is quite addictive. Aggghhhhh!!! Now I have a SAVING VICE! :rotfl: Hope I don't need rehabilitation soon....

    Love to all x
