I have nearly £100 scheduled to come from Quidco. Sadly it's not exactly £100... £97.42... pennies, how vulgar.
Looking forward 'til tomorrow - I get interest on one of my savings accounts, so I can round it up. It's exciting!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Oh I shall definitely be adding a bit to round up to the nearest hundred on interest pay day. Can't stand pennies in my ISA.
Got me thinking, I lent someone my House DVD boxset a while ago, and their comment to me was "Oh look, the six discs are all in order" you know those little mini-cases in the box... And I thought well yeah obviously they're in order! How could they not be?! It would be unthinkable for m to have the discs in the wrong order in the box. And acording to my flat mates its weird that all the labels on tins in my cupboard have to face outwards. Ahem... back to saving!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I can't imagine why they wouldn't be in order... But my sister thinks I'm odd that the Harry Potter (I love them) books on my shelf are arranged in reading order. It's just common sense, same with the tins. Why make things difficult for yourself when you don't have to?!?

Okay, I am not sure how I have managed it what with all the outgoing to do with the decorating but I have managed to squirrel away £600 for me and £100 for DD this month which is just brill. Lord knows I am exhausted though and cannot wait to get back to saving because spending gives me sleepless nights!DEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0

At long last the students loan company has put a stop on my deductions so pay slip looking quite a bit better. Have already called bank to increase my standing order to my savings account so I don't get used to spending the extra. Looking forward to receiving the large overpayment cheque in due course.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

I have read the first 5 pages and would like to join you.
Unfortunately I haven't been saving long (I am only 20) and appear to be dwarfed by the vast majority of you, but...
I have £1200 in a Lloyds Cash ISA and £200 in a Lloyds Monthly. I only opened my ISA in September and had to eat away at my Monthly to survive, which was previously around £1300 as well!.
I am just about to graduate and may do post-graduate study (though fees paid and grant-maintained). It is frustrating not being able to see my savings grow incremently being a student but hopefully future employment will facilitate that.0 -
Well today I opened a savings account for the baby- in my name so far! With Halifax at a pants rate i'm afraid but going to change it to a 6% rate and link to reg. saver at 10% when I've got the birth certificate. The baby now has £73 in his savings account adn i'm inordinantly chuffed!
We also now have £200.82 in our holiday spends account and £580 in our holiday flights money account.
We are planning to put £30 out of our budget towards baby things. Any we don't spend will go into this account until the baby needs something. we will obviously have to open an account for university fees etc too but will need to sort out our day to day finances first. Maybe £10pcm would be ok for the first year or so..then we'll see what we can afford after that.
Anyway, keep up the savings folks.

Welcome to the forum, Frugality!
I haven't been saving long either - since last summer, but it is amazing how fast savings can grow. I'm in a different situation to you, as I am working, but like you I'm starting young - believe it or not, I'm 21 and thinking about my retirement pot. As well as the houses, cars, and holidays I'll have in between now and then.
What are you saving for? (I'm nosy about the back stories..)Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Hello LucyTD
I have a target of around 25k by the time I am, well, about that age.
It's ambitious and for no particular reason other than to enter the stock market with good chucnk of capital.
I want to put the days of 3.2%, 4.0% and if im lucky 6% earnings behind me and achieve rates of around 18-20% on higher risk investments.0 -
You sound like my kind of person!
I haven't worked out what my long term target is yet. I want to have a net worth of £10,000 by the end of 2008, and I'm pretty much on track, once I clear off the last of my credit cards (still at 0%, thank goodness - I wasn't too careful with money last year!). But at least 25k by the time I'm 25 would be nice. In fact, I am going to write that in my signature, as my target net worth, so I'm forever reminded of my goal. It's a nice figure to aim at.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
