Wow lots of updates since I last looked at this thread! Well done everyone. I seem to be having a good month with saving :-)

Driving_soon - Well done for saving so much at a young age (I'm 22) - although I've always liked saving, I've never really concentrated on it until a couple of years back when I really got into it. Judging my your name you're soon to be a car owner - it'll all downhill from then on! Damn things cost a fortune (I love mine to bits though - it's a hobby).

Aw, Thanks :) .... Yeah! but driving lessons are costing so much too! I woulda had 17k now if it wern't for driving lessons :rotfl: When I pass my test, I won't acutally get a car til I pass my course and on a half decent wage, just need to get my test out the way and pass so I don't spend all my Money on Bloody driving lessons! :rotfl: .

Good luck with all your saving too! :T
  • Hi everyone, and welcome to everyone who's posted since my last update. Makes me feel like I should have started saving a long time ago (I have some savings in Australia but never really payed much attention to it so havent' made it work as hard as I should have!!).

This month wasn't the best for saving - and the worst thing is that I can't identify where it all went wrong! - only saved 8% of my total income this month!

This means that I now have 15% of my yearly ISA allocation so hopefully can get the rest in there as soon as possible to maximise my tax free interest!

Keep up the good work everyone, love the updates!

Driving_soon: Ooh I was lucky with that - my Dad is a driving instructor so I got them for free. They must add up though, I can't remember how many lessons I had, but if I were to add up the cost of them all I bet it would have cost a fortune. Good luck with your test!

Just done the same. Found out one of mine was paying 1.67% net! I'm quite disgusted at myself for letting that one slide through. :o
