I will keep on saving of course but the amount of interest i will be recieving over the next few months wont be as much as before the rates went down. A quarter point off means i lose around £6 a month in interest on all my savings.Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE:A Single, 27, Aspie, Gooner :A0 -

Forgot to post for savings last month. Despite now earning £4.5k extra in a new job, the tax man has taken most of it and I only come away with £100 extra a month. Didn't save much in November so I had money in my current account for Christmas.
This months pay day is 18th, so hopefully will be over the £22k then.0 -
Hi all, hope everyones savings are healthy. I have updated my signature so pleased with my savings over the past couple of months. Just got my xmas bonus this week so have put most of that into my home improvements account. I was wondering if anyone could help me with my isa...i have a halifax isa with a starting amount of £490 at the beginning of the tax year. The problem i have is that i can't invest the £3000 but only £2786 which is £214 down. Very confusing, any help would be grateful?0

Not sure manic-saver - would suggest you call them and ask what your status is in terms of what you can invest before April 2008?
I have just moved my isa from First Direct to Bradford & Bingley. I can't put any more money in before April but at least it will be earning as much interest as possible in the meantime...
Planning to continue saving £200 a month from wages in 2008, plus £175 into investment funds, plus any extra from moneysaving (Quidco, daily clicks, surveys etc). 'Normal' savings are with IceSave for my personal savings and Bradford & Bingley eSaver for now.MFW #185
