Hey,
New to MSE forums.
I'm currently saving for a deposit for a house and seriously started a couple of months ago.
I've managed to get £6,000 so far in two isa's and am due to start paying into my A&L Regular Saver at 12% this month but I'm going to have an extra £500ish to be saved every month and am looking for the best rate. I thought abbey (where I have a CA) did a 10% regular saver but turns out it's 7.5%, I still think that works out at one of the top savers. Does anyone know if there is a better way to maximise the £500?
Thanks all0 -
Hey,
I'm tom and 16
I am currently saving £485 a month.
£285 in my ISA every month.
£200 in a Halifax Regular Saver.
When the regular savers year is up (October 2008)i will transfer the money over into my ISA to top it up for that tax year.
Then open a new saver and putting more money into the saver as my ISA will be full.
I will carry on doing this until i am about 19-20.
And i will then buy a house....But not for me to live in, but for an investment.
Saving about 68% of my wage. Could maybe do better than that. But when ever my current account looks healthy i transfer over money to the ISA.
Any Tips for a youngster with ambition is welcome
Thanks
Tom
PS: I will always make sure my ISA is full at the end of the tax year.0 -

Mate!!! your onto an absolute winner if you start saving at that age. with the wonders of cumulative interest, your money will grow and grow and grow.
I only really realised the value of money when I was about 23-24 and If I started at your age I would have 100s of thousands of pounds by now!Save save save!!0
