We often buy veg from the local supermarket and it has to be weighed and stickered - I'll stick the price on a single courgette or aubergine but can't see me weighing and pricing each carrot individually :D. In general I agree though and often hand over a canvas bag to market stalls.

I just buy the items and put them in the Landy. No bags, no messing around, no stickers. Simple. Except Mrs K is convinced the food will get eaten by the Land Rover and must be put into a bag or box to be transported. :rotfl:

    :T:T: Hello GG :T:T

Runs in late to the party, collapses from reading 41+260 pages, and pulls up a chair if that's OK … although wishing it were a sunbed in Spain :)

So, as you can tell I have now read through both this and your old diary which I found linked from your first page from start to finish (procrastination, moi?!) - and just wanted to say WOW. I've loved your adventures, and it was like a great book …
'The GG 'O' series: Overpayments, Onesies, Onions, Ospreys and OH SO MUCH MORE'
... so I didn't want to skip ahead to the end … but now have made it without spoilers, who'd have thought a year ago that you would be in Spain - almost in a seaside house … having rejected the Middle East en route. Wow!!!:beer::beer:

Although I'm a bit sad to have missed being along at least virtually with you on the journey, it is sooooo inspiring to see the end from the 'start'. When you first started 95 months must have seemed ages - and here you are, beaten it, and looking back from nature notes in the sun - such a huge change. Your humour, persistence and focus shine through your writing … and your all-round knowledge of landlording and money (pensions posts addled me which is embarrassing) as well as spreadsheets (I loved the picture of the house in Excel, but also the more 'number' ones) truly awesome. You've come so far - a real journey not just geographically but from tiddly MS excursions mostly by yourself you were reporting at the start, through another accidental house purchase, to your new adventures and not sleeping without Mr GG in your house big enough not to kill eachother … Your energy is awesome, your lists fantastic … and that's before you start (and often finish) crossing them out :T:T:T

As you left the UK (properly, not this time after your visit), you did a post which I read recently. Looking back at the journey (even pre diary) you said 'It CAN be done'. That made me well up but it also actually made me think perhaps it can … you are and that was a MASSIVE inspiration and hope. SO THANK YOU :A That is all (!).

Anyway. Hope you have had a good time in this soggy cool climate, and have a good trip back with your amazingly prepared bags. Sorry to hear about the donation by DS - was he taking MK too far?

Thank you GG! Please stay around to keep inspiring us

Holly thank you for your lovely post which made Mr GG cry when he read it out to me :kisses3::kisses2:. Will reply in detail later, off for a nap - have come back from that England place with a cold so won't be going there again!!!!!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Aww, now you/ he have got me going … but thinking again about that 'It can be done' post had started me already … so really all your fault :) Remember back in the olden days when Mr GG just occasionally hijacked your diary, and now he's reading it to you ...
Sorry you've returned with a cold, definitely don't recommend this island when you can stay in the sun. But excellent that you have gone for a siesta … it would in fact be culturally insensitive / rude to your new home not to!
