The shop where I work (England) has charged 5p for bags for a while and give the money to charity. Not sure if they are getting away with that now this law has come in. TBH I am already used to it from Scotland, all my handbags and coats have a carrier bag in just in case and my car has loads. The worst time last year was Christmas shopping but the first shop we went into gave us the biggest bag possible so we didn't have to buy anymore.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I've never kept or carried carrier bags ... if I buy food and they don't give me a bag it goes into the car boot as separate items. Does seem I'm the only one that does this. Mrs K has often told me to put carrier bags or a box in the boot of the car but I don't really see the point.2018 totals:

Well, there's helping cut down on consumption and pollution to make the world a safer place for Little LK. And now it will hurt your pocket as well (she says, relishing starting a sentence with 'and' knowing it will annoy Alex :rotfl:). For a long time in the UK I carried bags for supermarkets but not usually for other shopping. In Spain there is a charge in all large shops so I'm in the habit - I have a few nylon ones that take up virtually no room in my bag and I'll take a canvas one if I think I'll be buying something heavier.
So, that's the Christmas presents just about down and dusted, including stockings 🎄:xmassign::snow_laug:snow_grin:santa2::xmastree::rudolf: - ha, 1st :T. Also got myself a few bits and pieces including some ankle boots which hopefully will be very comfy as off to New York in 5 weeks 🌇. Took my literally hours to find a comfy pair, by which time, despite copious plasters, my 'comfy' shoes had cut my heels to ribbons 😱. A few more things to get today, including an upright airer hopefully - can only get horizontal ones in Spain and they take up too much space. Then off on 🚂 to see DS for a few days, also best friend
No Alcohol Day yesterday but not a no spend !!!!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I have a whole host of Slimming World bags for life which I always take to the supermarket and hang off my trolley for a bit of free advertising for my groups! Someone always asks about them, especially at the checkout, and occasionally I get a new member from them, especially after I wrote my group details in marker pen on the bags!!
One day in S'bury's, I took in 100 leaflets, and "accidentally on purpose" dropped them all on the floor. Loads of kindly shoppers came to help me pick them up, and we got talking and they took a leaflet and then joined group.
Clearly, I have no shame!!!

You've still not told me why a few carrots and a cabbage (or whatever you've bought from the grocer) needs to be put into a bag, Gally?
Can't believe you've got Christmas done already, it's not even Halloween yet. :rotfl:You annoyed Alex on purpose :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

. In general I agree though and often hand over a canvas bag to market stalls.
