Actually, I came back on in horror - I tend to watch BBC News for ten minutes while I'm drinking my cup of tea, then bring my coffee to the office to get going with emails and whatnot .... this morning, the news was full of violence in London and spreading out all over the country, a nephew of mine posted on facebook to say he saw looters trying to get into a shop into that bastion of poverty and depression, Chelsea, and the financial markets are in freefall.

And during the time the riots were starting up, last night .... I was out picking blackberries. I picked 700g, in half an hour or so. I had a slightly premature end, also because of potential violence - I saw a wasps' nest in the brambles  thats as bad as it gets round here. Though the local news did say there was a little bit of copycatting in Kent.

I'm just wondering what will happen to rail services today, whether they're affected, as both my clients today will be coming down from London ....

    Morning KC

remind me not to use quick reply as it tends to lose posts!

Sobering morning, and more a sign of the power of social networking than of anything else.

Blackberrying at dusk sounds like a pleasant way to spend an evening. It was blowing a gale here.

    Morning all.

Big jealous sighs here at brambling, but well done you! I don't like wasps either.

Picking brambles definitely sounds like the place to be :) Apparently there are more wasps than usual this year - something to do with the warmer summer (?)

Yep, summer is warmer! I see a lot of wasps in the garden, mooching about in the dead grass :o at least I *think* they're wasps. Nothing there for bees, and they don't hover like hoverflies.

Over the weekend tho, I saw two of the largest bumblebees I've ever seen - each of them were double the size of a normal one!

I meant apparently we've had a warmer summer than usual (suppose we have really - I even have sweetcorn growing in the garden and never managed that before!)

There do seem to be some massive bees around as well! :D

Lol sorry I meant to write 'warmer than usual summer' and realised it sounded a bit like I was just saying summer was warmer than the rest of the year, which of course it is, in theory anyway.. :D

Anyway... my parents got a really good little leaflet somewhere that identifies all the different types of bees - I had no idea there were so many. I like bees!

Sigh ... no point ignoring it any longer. I'm feeling nauseous with the ache in my shoulder. The pain at my collarbone, and in my fingers, is like a knife sometimes, but the constant ache in my shoulder, its very distracting, and very horrible. My rheumatology appointment is tomorrow, finally, so I can hopefully have a talk then. The list for today is just washing bedding, tho getting some bedding back on the bed might be a problem.

I just have to make a shedload of money, thats all.
