Loving the squiggle :j that really is fantastic.

Hi Gill! Not terribly relaxing, no - good one, yes :j I'm off to London for the day - booked a cheap-ish ticket, I'm using the art pass thing before it expires, going to the Courtauld Gallery and then I've booked in to a big(ish) cinema to see Harry Potter 7/2 :) weirdly, I don't often see them on the big screen, in addition to the DVD, so this will be a great ending to the series for me :) its not very far from where I saw a weird little film called Star Wars the first weekend I moved to London :D

    Thanks Ellidee!

I forgot to say ... there was no paddling ... :( I forgot all sorts of things - I forgot that I had to take my shopping trolley with me because I was out such a long time, that the beach is completely shingle, that there's a steep slope, that it would be *so* hot .... I think I'm going to have to move north for my retirement, not south - sand is good further south, but further north too :rotfl:

Yep, the special projects are tumbling - I must make sure next week that I space things so that I can catch up on bits I haven't done *and* do the main de-dusting in the house: the de-dusting is most important, otherwise she won't be able to stay here. Oh! ....

    No, that would be mean!

Well, anyway, I had a *fantastic* time yesterday - walked along the South Bank, passed the Golden Hinde replica and omigod, Borough Market! never knew it was like that! Courtauld was gorgeous, so many original impressionist paintings that we've all seen reproductions of.

Got the tube to the cinema - managed to lose a one-off oystercard I had, but I *think* it was nearly at zero anyway .... and then HP 7/2 :j:j:j Thank heavens Daniel Radcliffe has suddenly found the acting chops he sort of lost after No 1. Rupert Grint, sadly, is bound for a part in EastEnders any time soon, a la Phil Daniels. Emma will be a star.

Still loving how fast it is to get home to this place, once I decide I want to :j and I need to do more of these days out :)

Today, I'm taking it fairly easy - just going to sweep the patio, really, and hop to Sainsbo. In the sunshine :)

What a lovely day KC. I love the South Bank. When I come to London I like to stay at St Pauls Youth Hostel (its a bit careworn now but I still love it) and spend the day wandering all around the South Bank. I loved Borough Market when I finally got to go there last year. Took some friends who have lived in London forever and had never been. They now go regularly. Must root out my pictures - so full of character.

    Morning Karma!

So glad to hear you had a good time yesterday - a movie in a theatre what a treat!!!!!

    How were the art galleries?????

Take it easy when preparing for mom - we don't want you to be knackered.

OH thinks you've created a monster here - I'm into pesto in a big way atm! - the watercress one was such a hit that I've bought some more - have found that if it's being eaten fresh then the lemon juice needs to be halved but if it's left 24-48 hours then flavours 'mature' and the lemon is just right! - Next on the list is carrot top (greens) pesto - it's a cooked one...

...now just need to figure out if cream of purple cauliflower soup is pushing the adventure too far for my meat, potato and two veg other half!

Thanks all! RT, the Courtauld was the art gallery - lots of Van Gogh and Cezanne, a few Degas and Renoir, a Toulouse Lautrec exhibition, some late medieval ceramics, quite a few impressionists I hadn't really heard of, wonderful things.

Thanks for the pesto tip - I'll make a note of that on the recipe, its brill.

Starving now, and off to Sainsbo - sunshine is back, it was raining a minute ago!

  • Glad you had fun :) what an adventure, don't get too tired - and enjoy the sun!

RT - how I laughed at the purple cauliflower soup - my lot would be dripping it from a spoon and looking at me with their eyebrows up!

I think it sounds nice :)

Carrot top pesto - ? Interesting..................................

Waves to all - any luck with the bere flour kc?
