Im still learning about day trading so please forgive the stupid questions .... The breaks that you are taking are they timed for a specific reason ? I can understand completley the struggle with having to change your though process on the money ... After being very careful with money for so long i imagine it would seem like your going against the grain to start thinking of it going up in smoke
Well done on the gardening but yuck to the pile of !!!!!! fingers crossed it is just a catredsquirrel80 wrote: »"Here's hoping for incontinent cats" - that's not a phrase you hear often.. well, ever! :rotfl:
Sounds like you're definitely learning more about what you need to do to trade.
Great result on the to-do list!Just popping on to say hi! and share the funny of the day!
Have just spent a fruitless 20 minutes trying to explain to my boss why the city of Westminster won't allow a skip outside our building site on the 29th April :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:the boss not giving any of us the day off paid - he expects it to be business as usual! Not sure he understands the whole concept of the Roy@lWedding!
Yeah to trading time!!!!! & getting through your list of to-do's!!!!!
Thanks RT!
What planet is your boss from  And how can he not give you a bank holiday? Grrr, doesn't sound quite legal to me.
But yes, my to-do list is going down nicely - hope yours is too.

Dragon i dont get all bank holidays ( in fact im never off on a bank holiday) and will not get the wedding off at all
Is it just some you work, El, or all of them? Do you get time and a half or something, and a day in lieu? If not, then between you and RT, we need the trade unions back again.
This week was looking *really* bad for hours worked for me, but I've just got another two hours, so its looking slightly less awful. Thats *good* news, such as it is :rotfl: and now to download QI :T and eat potatoes and pesto:D:D I'll be good too, and have broccoli as well.

no i dont get time and a half at all i work xmas day and get single time i work new years day and get single time ... i work all bank/public holidays and get single time no day in lieu or anything ... its my job and that is it really sucks i know ... but i do have some positives with it all
thanks for the explanation and no there is no way i could do four hours either isnt it 45 mins and then concentration goes or something ? it is a very fascinating subject though0 -
Re the bank holidays, when DS was working in security, he didn't get paid extra if he worked public holidays, it was part of his contract. The people who get paid extra are those generally who can volunteer to go in.
I won't get paid either as I'm self employed, and the clients I work for will be shut!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hiya! Well, no, I don't get paid bank holidays or any other holidays, cos I'm self employed too, of course - but normally we have a higher rate of pay to compensate for that ... the old lefty in me comes out, I'm afraid - now that the unions have so little power in so many industries, people can get away with doing this to their employees, grrrrrr.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oh yes, the socialist in me comes out all the time! Once upon a time I'd probably have marched on Westminster. I couldn't understand how ds put up with it, but in the current climate, few can refuse, and that REALLY makes my blood boil!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Until the revolution, then.....
In the meantime, I've updated my sig to take account of last month's French mortgage payment:o bleeping h*ll, what is the world coming to? Its now E53209, which currently equates to £46,480, and which on the day it went out, 25 March, equated to £46,729. Hmmm. I've not done that particular sum before, thats not good.
Thats over £200 difference on just over E500, that can't be right
E53209:
6 April: exchange rate 0.8736 = £46,485.
25 March: exchange rate 0.8782 = £46,729.
Difference = £244.
Oh. Its not on E500, is it, its on E53,209. You can see why I come over all funny sometimes on maths....:o:o:o
Moving swiftly on, I'm preparing to trade today. Feeling quite discouraged, seeing long trends or tiny moves, neither of which give my system a chance to workThere was a lovely pattern tho, between 7.15 and 8am on one of the currency pairs I watch, absolutely classic, and **pretty**. If I see one that pretty again, I'll give some serious thought to going into it. The setup is almost all of that 45 minutes, so plenty of time to consider.
Otherwise, its more off the to-do list for today - shredding, a few emails, health complaint, charge the new phone, normal boring stuff.
Oh, and gardening!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hooray for pretty patterns.. I've got a nice flowery scarf on today, but hopefully your pretty pattern will bring you profitDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Morning All!
Thank-you for getting all riled up on my behalf - what a cheery way to start the morning! - I love the thought that unions in the UK are a 'lefty' thing - back across the pond, they seem to be a matter of course!
You are all absolutely correct - it is illegal & in fact my contract is supposed to cover all bank holidays! but...
It is a small company and the boss thinks he's Gawd - so instead of arguing it with him, cause he's a man and can't see logic or even past the end of his nose - I've 'TOLD' him I'm having a couple half days off for various personal commitments & he won't be docking any pay! - He didn't dare argue cause he say how cross I was :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...and as for his planetary origins... I'm really not sure but it's definately not mine!
KC - once again I'm amazed that you can get your brain around the trading - my very brief foray into the 'theory' of it left me needing a shot of whisky (and I don't drink - lol) - but so very very happy that you are now going forward with it for 'real' & also getting through your todo list!!!!!
