Hi KC Im enjoying the exchange rate at the mo as the euro is doing ok v sterling which means although its costing me more to get rid of dear old visa its less than it used to be, also used to cost me a transfer fee which has now been scrapped :T ranges from around 81c to 85c to the £ so thats not too bad. Nearly gone now thank goodness.

Just about afternoon ... afternoon all! Well, I haven't done *anything* listed above, which left me still feeling discouraged. As in, what the bleepity bleep am I going to do to make some money? There *must* be better ways of making money than going to work in Sainsbo ...
So I fetched out of the bookcase an old copy of Green Building magazine, made notes on whats around online about eco-insulation, and drafted my website ... its very rough, just categories so far, and how they might interrelate - I'm afraid I'm not a mindmap person, so its in list form, and I think I see a flowchart coming on too (as well as a humongous search engine within the site), but at least its down on (virtual

i'm not a mind map person either kc i am so glad i am not alone ... i just cant understand it my mind thinks far too linear ... i have seen some of the mind maps and i go sheesh no chance ...
loving the "pretty" pattern it's great you saw it and recognised it so next time it will be a goer ...0 -
Yep, on jobs I'm linear too - thats a good description. I often *think* in a gestalt, and then translate it into words, but thats about insights into client work, things like that, not layouts or information or what I need to do.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

It doesn't matter whether you are able to mind map or not. as long as whatever you are doing is working!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Another one for the 'can't quite get mind mapping' camp here! Likewise I find visualisation quite hard, but find the sounds of things help me to remember them, rather than picturing them. Our brains all work in different ways I guess

Absolutely! Its just that there's quite a heavy push on here to mind map on big things, and it just isn't how I think .... I'm constantly at extremes - gestalt *and* logical, scientific *and* new-agey, hippy *and* capitalist, green *and* space enthusiast, it drives me crazy sometimes - I think mind maps are a kind of meeting in the middle of things, which is why they don't appeal to me, Extremes Girl made flesh

i think my mind works in similar ways to you kc ... i have noticed myself that there is a bit of a push for mind mapping here and hey if it works then perfect ... my son wouldnt have it any other way he loves mind mapping and thinks its the best thing since sliced bread ... i tend to think many different ways too ... all depending on the job at hand so to speak0

I think you're right about the two of us, El - more power to our elbow!
I've been out in the garden, with my face turned away from the sun, sadly, getting rid of as much of the buddleia as I can, and sort of deadheading one of the lavenders to help it grow. No way I could do a proper planting plan this year - its definitely a case of getting the bones of the garden the way I want it, then putting in the plants I brought with me, which are still sitting in their plantpots getting hungry ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I have problems with mindmaps for exactly the opposite problem. They're far too linear. You start off with one root, then branch out from there, whereas I often need a number of roots with branches that merge as well as split."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
