Thanks FF looks like thats my second search engine after the yahoo/nectar tool bar is maxed each month. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Everyone who asked for a referral should now have one.....
Good post day here at Fresian Towers - I have been sent a new Maybelline mascara and a Ben and Jerrys shopping bag. I love the freebies board :j
Off out now - I need to go and pay my library fines (Bah!!) then meeting a friend for lunch and doing lots of shopping for dinner on the way home.
Have a good day all

I got the shopping bag too, already had to wrestle it away from mr s as he's almost as much of a Ben&Jerrys fan as I am, he thought it would make a lovely bag to keep his OU books in....It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Evening folks
I'm still awake due to an ill-timed early evening nap, so I may as well post a wee update while I'm conscious!
Yesterday was lots of fun. I went to the Farmers Market and spent a reasonable amount of cash on posh food. Mr F did like the pork & garlic sausages though, so he's a happy bunny. My friend treated me to lunch at a lovely tapas place in town, which was very kind of her.
As Mr Fresian has been in the north again this week, I bought the M&S meal deal for our dinner last night as it was his first night back. We dined well on rump steak, chips and cheesecake (for pudding, not a side-dish!) and had a lovely time watching the Champions League final. I am slightly regretting not betting on it, as I correctly predicted the score :rotfl:
Today I spent a bl00dy fortune between Aldi and Tesco, but we've now got lots and lots of food to last us for a while. I got a couple of good buys, including chicken leg quarters for 99p in Aldi. I'm thinking that they will be pretty good in the slow cooker...? I've not totted up the damage for this weekend, but suspect it's over £75  Still, it's all budgeted for, so it's not all bad.
I made over £40 on Ebay sales this weekend. I may have spent some of this already on essential (honest) new crafting suppliesI'll post the pictures of tonight's efforts tomorrow, they're pretty good if I say so myself.
Better try and get some sleep now. Night night

Hi FF
Sounds like you have been very busy with one thing and another and having a good time to boot.As for me I have been busy working and very tired for the past week or so. Hence my visits have been few and far between, just doing enough to keep up with my saving challenges but seeing as i am off thought I had better catch up with some of my diaries.
Hope you are getting enough OT to bring in the pennies
Well done on the crafting sweetie more pennies in your pocket. I watched the champions league final too but gutted as a Man U fan..get out of here I hear most of you say but Barca were a class act unfortunately. Nevermind.
Hope work goes well this week hun
Catch you later and enjoy the BH even if you are working...but hey your earningx

Why on earth did I agree to work a bank holiday?! Ah yes, double time
With that in mind, here's the current state of finances in Fresian Towers at the moment:
PAD/Spends - £74
Entertainment - £48.25
Groceries - £242.55
There are 24 long days until payday, but we're on holiday for 5 of them, so hopefully the money will stretch ok - I'll be spending the rent money while we're away anyway :rotfl:

Hi FF,
Been reading but not posted in a while but wanted to say your cards are fab! Must admit i've been looking at some of the card making magazines in the shops they seem a bit pricey but when you get lots and lots of goodies with them they don't seem like such a bad dealThe thing is i'd like to do some card making so i can introduce it as a hobby for my mum - i think she'd really enjoy it but would need a bit of encouragement to start - eg me! Do you have any suggestions on the basic stock needed to start at all?

Having a quick break, so here's my top tips....
I would say that the following are essentials:
Scalpel
Cutting mat
Double sided tape (acres of it!!)
Glue for embellishments. I used something called Glossy Accents which I use to stick flowers/gems to my cards but it can also be used to colour over an image and make it shiny
Good quality card stock. I'm currently using Anita's brand cards. I got a pack of 100 of them from WH Smith for about £9 I think.
It's easy to spend a fortune on "essentials" but if you're just starting out then play about to see what suits you before you spend a lot of money. I bought one of the big card magaazines for about £6 which had loads of stuff with it and followed their instructions for cards before I bought loads of my own stash. I think it was Lets Make Cards magazine. I played about with their designs until I was happy enough to do it on my own. If you look at the oldest posts on my blog, they were done with those kits....and look at me now :rotfl: At least that will show your mum that if you have a liking for it you can improve in time too, so don't let dodgy first efforts put you off!
You can get lots of things from Ebay relatively cheaply, especially backing papers. I don't like to pay £6-10 for a pack of paper, so tend to buy sample packs from Ebay which have maybe 10-12 sheets of paper but only cost a few pounds.0
