    Morning all :D

Well I managed four hours at work yesterday which means I'll get paid for eight. I have another 6.5 hours banked for this months pay already, so that's a lovely amount of extra funds heading into my bank account shortly.

It's quite possible that we might have to replace Scraps in the coming months, so it makes sense to try and build up a savings pot just in case. I have almost £200 in my car fund as things stand, although this is for car tax/repairs/insurance, and am adding £50 to that each month. I do also have the money in my ISA and handbag fund, which would make a good amount for a second hand car - especially as it's a buyers market for most things at the moment.

Not a lot else to report from yesterday really. I managed a NSD for the first time in god knows how long :D and once I had finished work I spent some time making more cards. I'll put them up on my blog later on, but the ones from Sunday are there now.

I've also *gulp* agreed to go with Palema to help out at one of her Weightwatchers meetings to see what it's like and decide if I want to sign up. I know it's the right thing, but it's a massive step for me to admit I have issues with my weight so there were a couple of tears last night with Mr F :o He's being supportive and lovely (as always) so I feel better about it now I've spoken to him.

Best go and sort myself out for work. Have a good day all :D

I'm not sure what issues you have, Fresian, as when I met you, you looked lovely and slim.

However, I definitely need to get my bahookie down to some serious weight-shifting work, so I'm with you in spirit! ;)

Gawd bless you - you're welcome in Fresian Towers any time :D

Essentially, I'm overweight and I know it. I am also getting more and more unfit as I don't do a lot of exercise and if I'm bored/upset/tired I comfort eat too.

I'm currently about a size 18, but I have been as slim as a 10 before. That did coincide with a borderline anorexic episode, so I have no desire to get like that again, but I think my natural body shape is 12-14 and would like to be closer to that. I don't feel happy in my skin just now and that for me has always been more important than the size of my jeans or my physical weight. I'm hoping that going to a class like this will give me ideas on how to improve my eating habits and my overall health.

I have done some googling.....as some of y'all will know I had gallbladder removal surgery last year. I think my diet caused the gallstones and can tell that I'm not processing my food in the same way I was before. I think that a lower-fat diet will help with my lethargy and that will hopefully have an effect on the size of my derriere :D

Hope that explains things a bit Pickle ;)

It does. IKEWYM! I want to lose weight as well, but I can't be doing with faddy diets where you put it all on again as it's as much for health reasons as much as vanity. I lost my dad not too long ago, and I would bet his love of red meat didn't help things due to certain types of cancer to which we seem to have a genetic predisposition, so I refuse to go down that path.:naughty:

I don't want to sound like I'm on my soapbox, and no disregard for Palema and her class... but:

I've done both SW and WW and personally prefer SW. I know WW seems good as it means you can eat what you want (within the points and free stuff) and I haven't done it since they changed to pro-points (changing model to SW anyone?) but I personally prefer SW as seems more designed to change your way of thinking about food and encourages healthier eating. Also within the shifts I do, I get bored a lot so provided I take a ton of free food with me, I can munch all day long!

Disclaimer: This is only my personal opinion!!

This is pretty much what I keep hearing as well. It seems to be quite a common point of view, although I do know one girl who has lost a lot of weight on WW as well, and kept it off.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, just that SW worked better for me so might be worth looking at both :)

Nor I, but I personally know more people who have done SW and lost a significant amount of weight, and managed to keep it off than with WW. Other than that, it's different strokes for different folks...;)
