Morning all,
I'm heading back to work today - I still feel really run down, but don't think that's going to improve by sitting at home and hoping that being busy will help me.
It's six days until pay/bonus day (with a good chunk of overtime thrown in!) and the money situation is thus:
PAD/Spends - £35
Entertainment - £17.83
Groceries - £31.15
ISA - £910.51
VSP - £250.17
Car insurance fund - £307.57
Hopefully that will just about cover the car insurance, which might mean that I can pay a little bit off my mortgage this month with my bonus. I need to do some house things with it too - the immersion switch isn't working so we're having to turn the heating on to heat the water which is less than bloody ideal. Anyone know if that's a plumber/electrician job or if I need some kind of boiler specialist?
I also need to make sure that I keep some money back for our holidays - we're heading to York in June again and back to the Homeland for the Easter period. Given that diesel up there is around £1.45-£1.50 per litre, we're going to need quite a bit of cash just to get around
My only spend yesterday was using the Body Shop 50% code mentioned in the weekly email. Mr Fresian's sister (not the one in the spare room) is due to have her first baby within the next week or so, so I bought her a lovely set of baby essentials (shampoo, massage oils etc) to go with the baby clothes I picked up in the M&S sale at Christmas. I also got a massive candle to go in the Christmas stash and some massage oil for me. Even though you weren't meant to get the 10% Love Your Body discount it kicked in too, so the whole lot cost just over £15 :j
Aside from that, I made quite a few cards during my "house arrest" and have blogged some of them. The rest I'll try and do tonight. I really need more space though - a "chat" is coming with the lodger. For the sake of my craft room and my sanity

Mr Fresian has just told the insurance folk that we don't park our car in a railway carpark (Nor have we ever!!) which has pushed the insurance up to £327 for the year, still cheaper than anywhere else
I have £307 in an account waiting to pay it, so I only have to find another £20 and get Clubcard points for popping it on my Mastercard :money:

I haven't gotten around to blogging my cards today, I'm really knackered - I'll try and do it tomorrow, although I'm thinking about going to the movies as I haven't been for a while.

Morning all
I blogged my new cards this morning, so they're there if anyone fancies a look.
I've PADded £10 this morning to the car insurance so only £10 left to find :j Nothing much planned for the weekend here - I'd like to go to the movies if my normal moviegoing friend is free. She's been one of the census folk so is really busy at the moment. Apart from that, I'm working for a few hours tomorrow (Boo!) and nothing else planned.
Payday is in five days time and I have £20 in the PAD/Spends account which should be plenty to live on. I also have some money in my purse, although I have lunch plans with a friend today and it's Comic Relief so suspect I'll be spending money on cake at work :rotfl:
Have a good day all!

Morning folks
Well I spent a fortune over the last couple of days for Comic Relief as there were loads of fundraising events happening at work. I have eaten lots of tasty cake thoughI'm not counting the spends in the Frugal Budget though as if I couldn't afford to spend money on charitable things I wouldn't have.
I'm off to work again shortly for a little bit of overtime and am aiming for a NSD - I'll do my supermarket stuff tomorrow. Does anyone know if Aldi washing powder is any good? I'm running low on washing tablets but couldn't believe the cost of brand named ones
I gave a friend at work one of the cards I blogged recently (with the dog and the pawprint buttons) and she showed it to a few people - I now have a commission for a Mother's Day cardEven doing a few a month is much-appreciated extra funds.
I have to confess to being naughty and thinking about how to spend my bonus next week. The car insurance is now paid up, so I don't have to do that, and my googling seems to indicate that the issue with the immersion switch is quite easy to fix, so it looks like for the first time in my nine years at work I have the bonus to spend on meSadly, I'm thinking non-MSE thoughts....someone talk me out of it!
Right, breakfast, washing to hang up then time for work. Have a good day all!
