I also need to make sure that I keep some money back for our holidays - we're heading to York in June again and back to the Homeland for the Easter period. Given that diesel up there is around £1.45-£1.50 per litre, we're going to need quite a bit of cash just to get around :D

Angus at the Isle of Skye Brewery told me yesterday that it had just hit £1.50 p/l at Uig. I have informed MrEH that our holiday fuel budget needs to be increased.....! Oh, while I remember, can you recommend anywhere for decent but not expensive evening meals in Portree? We've always used the pub in the past (McNabs?) but the food wasn't as good last year so we are searching for an alternative.

The Mulberry bag is gorgeous, but I would question whether it is actually worth the amount asked, or whether in fact you are paying a huge premium for the kudos of owning such a label. Much as I love them, I couldn't part with that amount of money for it - the most expensive bags I have owned are my Radleys - my smart black one I now use for work purposes and it's perfect for that - but even that only cost £110.

    Well done on frugal budgeteering!

Agree with EH on the bag.
