I was on citalopram for about a year and a half before I got switched to fluoxetine.I haven't found either particularly helpful,so I decided to take myself off them (cold turkey style!)about 3 weeks ago-big mistake! This past month has been hell and I now have a psychiatric doctors app on thurs as they want me to go back on the medication but I'm very wary.I'd quite like for my body/brain to be able to fix itself? Not sure that makes sense!Yes I do feel a bit of a fruitloop at the mo but hey ho.Hope you feel better soon.
My PAD today is 2.50 please-thanks:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010

Sorry to hear that you've been feeling rubbish
I was on Citalopram, I went cold turkey about 11 weeks ago (as soon as I found out I was pregnant) - doctors advised me to reduce slowly but also said they couldnt say for sure what effects the tablets would have on the baby. So I made the decision to stop immediately, it has been really really hard, but I am getting there slowly!
Anyway, PAD for me today is £49.20 to HSBC CC please!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Thanks Twinkle and Flower.... Did you feel dizzy coming off them too? I probably shouldn't stop yet, but just can't afford prescriptions!! (bad i know)
Going to try and get in at the doctors tomorrow as I'm still dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous and my eyes seem to go funny trying to focus so something isn't right... although whether this is down to the citalopram I don't know.
Now for my 3 days off... Lush!!

I have been having dizzy spells, however doctors have put this down to me having low blood pressure because of being pregnant. I never thought about it being because i am not taking my tablets - although I guess it could be a possibility! I would definitely get into the doctors though.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Winnie / psycho / Twinkles / Flower: First, thanks for sharing & all being so honest, but can I just ask... Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) on Fluoxetine or Sertraline?
Mr D finally admitted to GP he's struggling to cope since RTA in 09 (constant pain despite spinal surgery last year) so she put him on 50mg Sertraline. Made his mood much better really quickly but he always had dodgy tum with these so she changed him on to Fluoxotine. Mood changed back to not so good quite quickly so now he wants to go back to Sertraline. Musical tablets
So, question is, long term are these going to make a difference? I suggested maybe he should be talking to someone... Not everyone's cup of tea I know but might be better? Will the tablets always be hard to come off & do they help the underlying problems?
I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
My friend is on fluxotine and seems to be ok but it made her very tired.
I tried talking to someone, the first counsellor I liked and helped but the second one always seems quite bored which made me feel uncomfortable. It does help though as you can say how you really and truly feel without being judged... I know most people do anyway but it's surprising how much you really keep inside for fear of feeling silly or being laughed at...
Apparently the best way to move onwards and upwards is a combination of talking and pills... the pills help your mood for a bit, while you work on the talking to find the root cause of the problem and find ways of dealing with it.
Have I managed this? Who knows... I don't feel I have but maybe having MrS to talk to will help!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16
