    Hi all:j

Thanks to everyone who commented on the freezer thefts - no, haven't claimed on insurance for them (don't have any atm:eek:) but think that it wouldn't have been worth it anyhow for the hike in premiums at renewal......could almost feel sorry for them if they were stealing to feed themselves, but the police seem to think it's been stolen to sell down the pub to feed a habit IYSWIM. Anyhow we are having 6ft fences & gates put across the drive at both sides so they can't even get round the back to the garage. At vast expense:eek: but we do need them anyway. Hope you are ok FF after the nocturnal visit:eek::eek:

Popped in to PAD for the w/end - PAD £100 please to M&S CC - tkyou

Thanks for reminding me to pay my insurance. I have PAYG with the council. It's the best value round here. Just for council tenants. I think I pay less than£4 a month :)

It was one of the first things I learnt with debt busting. NEVER NEGLECT YOUR INSURANCE :D
    Hello everyone.

Im new to this and have spent ages this morning reading through the thread and think its a brilliant idea so I wonder if I could join. I am trying to make some overpayments on my mortgage so all my daily payments would be going into my IF savings account.

Welcome aboard Lilac...We're a pretty neat bunch. Don't worry about not reading all the posts though if you're anything like me you'll want to read them. How do you keep track? Some folk use the thanks button. I just keep a note on the pc with the page no :)

    Hi everyone!

I thought I would come and announce that I have made my first ever pad to savings today!! £2 to a brand new HSBC flexible saver. :j I have also padded £5.09 over the last few days to my money box, when I get a chance to go into town this week I will empty that into the machine in HSBC and pay it into the savings too.

Wierdly enough, I originally applied for a savings account with Santander last week - I get my salary paid into that account - today I had a letter from them asking for 2 forms of id before they could open it! I've sent that off, but I also decided today to open a HSBC flexible saver as a back up. Clicked the 'apply' link expecting to have to fill in a form... next page says "congratulations, your saver is now open" :rotfl::rotfl:Talk about easy, take note Santander!!

Moneywise, although I have done well this month my car sounds like a tractor at the moment and I am taking it in tomorrow to have it looked at - not sure how much that will cost but I'm hoping it's not too much.

    Hope everyone is well :)

    xx

Yeah Santander take note. I had to make a complaint against my local branch manager when I lost my purse (and my cards) last year. He wanted me to take a DWP letter in just to withdraw monies. The humilation when I'm always in credit with Santander ....but thanks for the tip:)

Sorry to hear about your car FF......I sprained my ankle yesterday standing on the side table decorating (it smashed under me)....Eventually went to A+E (A+E and me really don't mix) and they said if it swelled up like a balloon today to go straight back otherwise it's just sprained and to take painkillers and gentle exercise :)...so the cream paint is done :D

Anyhow pay day (big giro in my book) so here (finally) is my PAD

    £140 to OD :J

Snowballing the OD (should be paid off next month) and then onto the macbook HP. But I know they charge for macbook extra payments so would I be wiser to just put it all on OD when the OD is cleared? And then just pay off the OD (OD limit is £800 and macbook was about that). What do folk reckon? The interest on the basic monthly payments on macbook is about £120 over two years? Feedback appreciated. The OD should be gone by end of year. Or should I just save it and then pay off macbook in one go?

So yeah ...decorating ....loving it - apart from lack of sleep due to cream paint fumes (it's old paint from charity shop).....Onto borders today DV...

    Blessings
