Awww thank you. It's nice of you to say that. I am quite wonderful! :rotfl: Nah, I always feel as though I could do better, but I guess thats the human condition. As long as he knows I'm trying my best I guess that's all I can ask for. I know he's trying his. :)

  • Glad things are looking up for you and DH- sometimes just that heart to heart and knowing how much it is effecting the other people around you can do a lot ...
sounds like going to wales together is a good thing too just to get him back into the swing of things!

there are a few resources online too for depression I think one is called mood gym or something and a book mind over mood which has some good self-help type exercises if its the negative thinking thats keeping his low mood going- hard to tell with so much having gone on for him recently but have a look if things stay tough..

and well done on the sub 35k mortgage!!
  • here's another good resource -free online cbt stuff http://www.llttf.com/
have a look through it may be DH is not at the stage where he would need/benefit but its the kind of thing you would get from nhs cbt course...

Thanks for those suggestions TYO. I'll have a look next weekend. DH has decided we are going to Wales tonight when he gets back from DJing...so we'll probably set off at 3am (ish). So if it happens it means I'll be online via phone all next week - I therefore apologize in advance for my bad writing that may make no sense...I'm rubbish at writing messages on my phone for the internet. :rotfl:

Right kids...we made it to Wales for 7am yesterday. DH went in to work for the afternoon. Had a cry in front of his supervisor, but he was super understanding. I've cleaned DHs house from top to bottom...just waiting for him to get back from Tescos...he went two hours ago which is a tad worrying. Hmmm.

Today I intend to mark at least two classes books and to make a lush Indian fish stew for tea. Yummy. Now if only DH would come home.

Fish stew was lush, DH really enjoyed it. Today we are having potato, leek and smoked haddock soup followed by Bbq cooked sardines and salad. Nice.

I don't know if its going back to work, being back in Wales or the weather...but DH seems so much happier. I'm really relieved. I FINALLY feel as though im on holiday. :-) That said I marked 60 year 7 books yesterday, and have 45 year 10 books to get through today. Think I will watch escape to the country before I do that though.

So glad to hear things are looking up... manhandling is always a good sign in my books :rotfl:! Thanks tyo for those sites you posted, I plan to take a look at those myself too. Hope the book is useful when it arrives twinklie.

Where abouts in wales is the cottage, if you don't mind me asking? It is mine and OH's dream to buy somewhere to escape to there. We fell in love with north wales when we went last year (I'm from south wales originally). We are going to a festival in mid wales this summer, and have just booked a camping site afterwards in the llyn peninsula, which I am really excited about exploring.

It is beautiful round here. It's near Bangor. It's in the little village where my sister used to live. It's so pretty.

Soup was lovely, Bbq ended up a late night star light affair, it was wonderful. Today we are having pearl barley, courgette and tomato soup. Hmm. Still got some book marking to do. Doh! But I'll try and do it today then I can relax for last 3 days of the holiday.

Not been to bangor, but we went to penrhyn castle on our holiday last year, the views from there were amazing, and there was a lot to see there too - we had a great day out.

Starlit bbq sounds great, and you are clearly eating really well. Will be great when the marking is out of the way and you can just relax :D. Is it gorgeous weather there too?
