Please don't worry Minnie what you wear - nobody needs more black at this time or year - just be there for your frineds and be yourself. It will comfort others. And a word about flowers - why not take a flourish of holly or any evergreen with your own note - making it personal makes a difference. Take care mate. :A Blessings on there way........

QUOTE=minnie2;40419470]thanks!!! im hoping im just having a bad day

got to buy some black clothes for a funeral next week as i dont fit into my usual funeral suit anymore - and its bugging me that im worried and stressing about spending money for a funeral of someone who was very dear to me! how dare my money probs over shadow his death!!! anyway thats been upsetting me today too so maybe tomorrow ill feel better!! thanks for listening to my moans!![/QUOTE]
  • Hi Minnie, sorry to hear you're having problems at the moment. Do you know what are the most precious gifts you can give to someone - your love and your time.

If you make the effort to go to a funeral, the very fact that you've attended, shows that you care. If it makes you feel better, wear something black, like trousers or a top, but don't feel that you have to be spending money on clothes. You've already given a wonderful gift by attending, and that's all that matters.

When by Dad died, the cleaning lady where I worked came to the funeral. She was dressed very casually, as she was going to work immediately afterwards. She didn't bring flowers, and neither my Mum or I could have cared less. We were just overwhelmed that she gave up her time to attend.

So well said Sandra - just had a funeral and you're so right about what really matters. Regards

    Evening all :D

Planned NSD was b*ggered by Mr Fresian going home via Asda on the way from collecting me from the train station. I'd had the journey from hell (first train half an hour late, second train delayed due to cows on the line! Then the tea trolley ran out of hot water and when they finally had some I didn't have enough cash for coffee, bah!) so was quite happy to pop in for bacon, as he wanted a sandwich.

It then turned out we needed the bacon, some bread, milk, tomatoes and lettuce. I also ended up getting some whoopsied fairy cakes for me (10p!) and some condensed soup - they had 5 cans for £2 and it's normally 74p a can, so I couldn't resist that, and the cat's food was a good price too. So, that was £23+ spent and I haven't been paid yet. Pah!

Off to have a quick peruse of the forum, update the Spreadsheet of Wonder and then bed. Night all :)

PS...on the subject of funerals, I attended Mr F's gran's funeral the other week and own nothing black (occupational hazard of cat ownership, cathair shows up too easily on black clothes :D) I ended up in a grey pair of trews and a dark top. His stepmum wore a red top and dark trews and it didn't really matter as it was all about attending to show we cared. That's the main thing.

and the link for this is on page 53 of here for future reference....I don't have all my tips bookmarked in an e-book just yet so whilst I'm happy to help out please try looking or searching first... I know there's a lot to read on this thread but if you take a few pages a day (10 or so being the ideal) and split it between morning and evening, saving any pages or posts that seem useful (just click on the headers with the nos and open in new tab then save as) it shouldn't take you too long....

I don't mean to be rude and what not but this is the second or third time in a matter of days I've answered questions that I answered only the other week....

Sorry Erme. I've got lots of recipes for nut roasts but yours sounded so nice with the seeds in. In my defence I did say if you had a mo. I feel like I've been really naughty now. Promise I won't ask you anything else :(

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

    Hi everyone,

No hope in catching up but thought I better update! Have been busy moneysaving which is nice for a change lol

Have been back and taken the M&S meat deal again so have a freezer full that I am stretching out. Took lunch and drinks today and had to buy a few bits spent less than £2, on handwash and a yoghurt and a choc fix :) Am doing better with my trying not to spend on snacks and taking water out with me :) must keep this up!

Council tax now paid off to the tune off 600. I am waiting to hear about the appeal. Glad thats sorted for now,

I have recieved a reply about my rank discos letter with a nice £3 voucher from KP for my trouble, so Im happy I should get lots of crisps with that! :)

Most of my House of fraser work clothes got refunded, and what did arrive is going back this weeked, will keep one jumper 10.00. The VERY order is also going back as none of the things fitted OH which is a shame but I will have credit on the giftcard.

I had a right to-do with a shop assistant in Deb**hams who told me I couldnt have a refund on clothes bought online-I got it back in the end of course! Did keep one thing though as a present for someone 4.00. ( pleased) So lots of refunds trickling back in which is nice!

I found 40 quid in an old savings account so I am about to close that down.

We have been doing a lot better with gas, and Im sure electric, we have got further with getting the meter changed so soon lots of lovely cashback! Been checking out the home insurance as well and looks like we can come in under budget by about 20,00 but probably not with any cashback ( boo)

We are runing low on a few things here but I am going to write a proper meal plan and shop this weekend for 2 weeks. We definately need flour, veg and milk, and cereal but otherwise not a lot else. If I can carry on till the end of the month with just essentials we will have a 70.00 underspend at least. this would make me very happy!

Hope everyone els is ok, anyone growing anything yet ( itching to go )
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

    You've done well this week!

Not growing anything yet, still wondering what I might grow in my very limited space. really should try annuals instead of buying them, to use in my flower troughs.

But might try some veg, or even lettuce this year.

Will see what I think of! Need layers to make it work in my very confined space, but want to be able to sit out in the sun too!

Don't think I've seen this mentioned yet...so here you are!

When I do food shopping next, will take advantage of Mr M's Shoulder of pork offer (on until Sunday), £2.16 per Kg.

Might even get a large joint, and cut it into 3 or 4 smaller joints!

Also tempted to cook a gammon hock, but no slow cooker, and boiling it for so long, must surely reduce any economy? Any thoughts/ideas are welcome!
