that's a bit sneaky of Groupon...the groupon is not good after 6pm from 7th March according to the T&Cs...and the regular price before 6pm is $15...so it's not actually $20 value for $10 unless you use it before 7th March...still, could be a good deal for those going before 7th March. I'm slightly tempted but wouldn't likely get down there before 7th March.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks for advice on BMG. And yep, tickets are pricey. About $100pp. Smarter Vegas have a 40% off code, but I can only get great seats at the front or the cheapest ones with poncho's (assume these people will be getting wet). Want something in between. Will keep looking......

We got a deal off Travelzoo for the BMG show in Orlando a few years ago and sat in the "poncho" seats at the front. I'm pretty sure I've read that the show is the same wherever you see it and we didn't get wet. From memory I don't think there's actually water involved...not sure how to put this without giving too much away, but it's more like certain things getting chucked out from the stage into the audience...hmm that sounds weird, I don't really know how to explain it! Anyway, just wanted to say don't let the poncho thing put you off - we were only 2 or 3 rows from the front IIRC in these seats and had a great view of the stage. If you can get cheap seats in that area I'd go for it.

Just to let you guys know...

We are flying MCR to LV with Virgin in July and although VA website says you can only get exit rows/extra legroom seats at check-in we called earlier this week to extend our return flight date and just asked the lady who has now pre-booked us the exit row seats.

The lady also said that these seats are bookable by calling up to 3 days before departure-at that point any unsold are then dealt with at check-in (cost still applies)

Yes-it cost us £75 each which is more than BA (normal fee charged by Virgin to west coast USA) but we've deemed it worth it as it's an evening/night flight returning from our 3 week wedding/honeymoon and want to stretch out (and we managed to get relatively reasonable prices). Happy Days :T
Thanks for that, never would have realised if you hadn't mentioned it.:T
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We are flying with United Airlines from Heathrow to Los Angeles then on to Vegas.

We've previously flew with US Airways, American and BMI and wondered if anyone has used this route with United and what it was like.

    5 weeks on Saturday !! :j
I can imagine it would be very looooooooong;)

Great Thread. Was just wondering if anyone knows if The Cosmopolitan Hotel charges resort fees, and if yes, how much.

Just got back yesterday! Absolutely AMAZING time in Vegas. 5 night stay at the Bellagio and we flew with Virgin from Gatwick.
    Points to note:

$20 trick didn't work for us but did for our friends, got a free upgrade on our last night though.

Best hotel on the strip for me is the Wynn. Totally stunning. Other great hotels were Bellagio, Venetian, Palazzo, Mandalay Bay and Aria.
Hotels that surprised me with how good they were - Luxor and Stratosphere.

By far the worst hotels I went in were Treasure Island and Excalibur.

Virgin flight from Gatwick - the major point with this flight is the seats are very uncomfortable in economy. The service and passengers on the plane were absolutely fine but the planes were old and the seats were crap. If you were on a red seat as well you got covered in red fluff.

Weekend was very busy but the weekdays were nice and quiet (in comparison).

Must do's for me - Freemont Street, Eiffel Tower, Stratosphere tower, Wynn, Grand Canyon helicopter, Cirque de Soleil and Bellagio Fountains. So much more I've missed though.

The red fluff usually comes from the red blankets...not the seats
