Thanks for that, we're going from 19th-26th September and it doesn't look quite as cheap. I think I might just wait till closer to the time to book anything as a lot of the offers seem to be ending in August. I hope you have a great honeymoon!

Edit: Actually the weekday nights are coming up as £75 per night but it's the city room and on the Cosmopolitan website it says that these rooms have got two queen beds and we want a king. It's a pity that the studio is double the price!

Also the city rooms are the only rooms with no balcony

Out of those 3 my choice would be the Cosmo, it is brand new and looks fantastic.

I have stayed at both the others, only in a bungalow queen suite at MGM and altho it is very big , they are quite old with big CRT tv etc.

I prefer Paris to the MGM

i'm starting to think of the 3 maybe mgm is now 3rd. and being further up the strip will be handy as we're in caesars for the final three nights.

the moneysaver in me is saying paris, but as you say the cosmo looks fantastic.

Great thread! I just wish I came accross this before I booked up my flights and hotel through Ebookers!! My deal was a good deal, but I never thought that it would be cheaper to book directly with the hotel.

Anyway, I am in the process of maybe changing my booking from the MGM, just searching for where else to go as the MGM doesnt have that good reviews with the folk on there!!

Has anyone got any experience with Treasure Island?

Nothing "wrong" with MGM except it is to big, ages to walk anywhere, rooms are a bit tired, self park is miles from the hotel but valet is ok.

My biggest bugbear is that despite having over 5000 rooms they never seem to be able to match my request of a 2 queen non smoking room. Sorry sir we only have a smoking king room, is what I have been told on 2 occasions, and they then offer me a rollaway

I thought I'd have a look through this as looking forward to our stay in March in the 1 bed terrace suite. I get to the photo of the washer dryer and think cha-ching!

The highlights: Mooky rings MrMooky "as we'll save on laundry, the upgrade isn't that much" lol. (I always get stuff laundered in the hotel and I know it's expensive but hey ho). MrMooky agrees to upgrade. Quick call to lowcost usa and we're all sorted! :j:j:j Thanks photome....:j

I take it that means you are now in a wraparound suite if I am reading correctly. You will have to let us know what it is like, I am seriously considering staying there for 3 nights in Aug, but in a terrace studio/one bed premium view.

Just a heads up about a premium view room though. Someone on Vegasmessage board posted thet they called the Cosmo and asked wht the premium view is and was told the fountains.

I emailed them yesterday to ask the same question and what floors the premium views are on. The reply was that a premium view could be facing any direction depending on availabilty at check in and could be on any floor.

IMO if you are paying extra for a premium view (about $20 per night I think) then that should mean a premium view and again IMO that should be the fountain view and then almost the whole strip stretching out behind.

Paying for the view and getting a low floor and a view of the glass towers of city center isnt a premium view IMO

conversely, if i were staying at Caesars for 3 nights, i'd most definitely do MGM for your first stretch - just so there is more distance between the two and less chance of going over 'old ground' (ie. stay at MGM and cover MB, up to Planet Ho / Paris perhaps, stay at Caesars and do Paris / Bellagio up to Wynn)

MGM is central(ish) for everywhere you'd walk for the first stint
Caesars is not so central(ish) for your second stint, but would still be satisfactory

I liked MGM, I don't think it looks too old / worn but obviously there's a huge difference between what it's like and what Cosmo will be like. Size of MGM never bothered us when we were there for 6 nights either, though I know some people find the walk to the pool long, though guess it depends which bit of the MASSIVE building they put you in! :)

We were at the end of the tower nearest to the airport, and all celebrity spa suites are at the end of (very long) corridors

Here's our Celeb Spa Suite review thing from when we stayed there, and some pics - sorry for repetition to those that have seen / read this before - its nice to have piccies reposted though!
Celeb Spa's are at the end of quite a long corridor, but the walk to the casino is only a few mins at most, and the 'West Wing exit' is a maximum 5 minute further walk out to the strip - i was quite worried it would be quite some distance due to the size of the place and some comments i had read of the room and its positioning but it really was nothing :) - probably similar amount of time to get to the pool :)

Also, our room didn't appear that dated or worn - the large wooden TV cabinet showed that the room had some age (massive box tv in it) but altogether, I was well pleased for just $75 a night average for the 6 nights :)

We got the 24th Floor, Airport facing - didn't bother with trick or any room request :)

Sorry can't show you the rest lol
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I have question, which out of these too is better? Harrah or Bally's.
It will be our first time in Vegas, we need just nice CHEAP room on Strip..

We prefer Bally's...but we always stay in the North Tower (more expensive, free upgrades are possible but not guaranteed, not great views) and these rooms are more recently renovated than the South Tower which are older rooms, but some have fantastic views...most of the South Tower rooms are really old and quite worn. It is a pretty laid back place though - as duchy said, it doesn't have a theme, and it doesn't really have anything to draw people in. Harrah's has much more of a vibe about it for sure...and it has Carnaval Court which can be fun...we stayed there once for one night, had the smallest, hottest hotel room in Vegas (I swear) and said we'd never stay there again...but I'll defer to others like duchy who have more experience at Harrah's than we do. We do like the casino, and some of the restaurants...just what we experienced in the hotel means we'll never stay there again. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
