Both TI and MGM are "near the end of the strip" although at opposite ends. Both are "a bit tired" like the Mirage was before its refit eg huge 36in tellys in a big brown box at the end of the bed, rather than a nice plasma.

Ive seen very few people here staying at TI.

Hey littlejo, I've stayed in both MGM and TI. As Froggit says on location, they at opposite ends from each other but both locations have plenty to do around them. TI is actually not that tired (especially compared to some of the hotels) as they finished a refurb in the last 2/3 years. Rooms were pretty nice, and we paid peanuts at the time just after all the rennovations has been completed. Here's a quick roundup fo what we thought.

MGM - Huge casino. It takes ages to get from anywhere to your room, lol. The pool is also a fair walk through the hotel. Super choice for places to eat. Lots of room choice and some good deals for staying there. Close to M&M's world :) and cheap table games easy enough to find. Good location to explore Luxor, Mandalay Bay etc etc. We like the breakfast buffet at MGM.

TI - Close to Fashion Show Mall and Venetian etc. Links by tram to Mirage. Great location to see the Mirage Volcano & Secret Garden, TI show, the gondolas at Venetian etc etc. They wouldn't rate my play unless I played $10 min and I like $5 so a downside for me. The coffe shop at TI was pretty good too.

If you're staying for a week or more, maybe consider splitting your stay between 2 places so there's less trekking up and down the strip. I'd happily stay again at either at the right price. :)

Ah OK I didnt know that. I wasnt sure whether the new owners would be investing in the hotel or just milking it for all it was worth.

I thought I'd have a look through this as looking forward to our stay in March in the 1 bed terrace suite. I get to the photo of the washer dryer and think cha-ching!

The highlights: Mooky rings MrMooky "as we'll save on laundry, the upgrade isn't that much" lol. (I always get stuff laundered in the hotel and I know it's expensive but hey ho). MrMooky agrees to upgrade. Quick call to lowcost usa and we're all sorted! :j:j:j Thanks photome....:j

It was all done before it changed hands. I was still using the old players card, as I haven't got the new one. Prob finished the refurb mid 2007, so just over 3 years, I think. It really was a bargain for us, as we only paid about £25 a night.....

Hi Gina! What dates will you be in Vegas? We are also going in Sept for our honeymoon (7th-11th) and there are some good deals on lowcostusa.co.uk and cityandshow.com (both part of same company). They have the Cosmopolitan for our dates for £90 a night, I am quite tempted to book it!

Thanks for that, we're going from 19th-26th September and it doesn't look quite as cheap. I think I might just wait till closer to the time to book anything as a lot of the offers seem to be ending in August. I hope you have a great honeymoon!

Edit: Actually the weekday nights are coming up as £75 per night but it's the city room and on the Cosmopolitan website it says that these rooms have got two queen beds and we want a king. It's a pity that the studio is double the price!

Thank you for this link, it's great! :T
I have question, which out of these too is better? Harrah or Bally's.
It will be our first time in Vegas, we need just nice CHEAP room on Strip..

Ballys doesn't have a theme and rooms are slightly nicer IMO at Harrahs. I like Harrahs location better of the two.

Ballys I think has some rooms with shower only but overall is fine -Oh the other difference is Ballys has no buffet.

Hi guys, a little over 4 months till we head out. It's a bit sad but starting to get well excited.

Booked celebrity spa suite at mgm for 4 nights from 9/6 for £302 @ today's exchange rate (currently £~450 on cityandshow/lowcostusa) I think that's a pretty good deal but curiousity got the better of me and now we have another two options - one cheaper one dearer

    Paris - luxury room - £236 with booking.com - free cancellation

Cosmopolitan - city room - £363 with cityandshow - full prepayment looks like about £70-80 to cancel

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, struggling to decide!

    cheers,
    z.

Out of those 3 my choice would be the Cosmo, it is brand new and looks fantastic.

I have stayed at both the others, only in a bungalow queen suite at MGM and altho it is very big , they are quite old with big CRT tv etc.

I prefer Paris to the MGM

Agree with Mooky mostly except for the cheap table games at MGM,last Aug I struggled to find tables (cards) at less than $10 minimum, I sometimes found 1 in the afternoon, but as soon as a couple of people sat down it was raised to $10 although they let you stay at $5. bearing in mind that at $5 min playing poker it is a minimum $15 bet just to get a deal if you play the bonus, and then $20 upwards to play the hand.
