cheers Mooky, as you probably saw, FatWallet posters have also expressed dismay at the lack of hotel promotions being posted... it's still probably worth including in your list as it's gee'd up a bit over the past week or so (even though it's only on page 2!)

I still look there too. 60k views for the thread and only 60 posts. :(

Just got an email from TI.

2 Mystere tickets for $99. Jan and Feb only. I think you could probably beat this price, but here's the link if anyone's interested
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

I agree - really worth joining if you gamble at all.

You used to be able to sign up for the MGM card online, possibly still can - but then you usually couldn't claim any of the freebies for signing up in person...at one point you could get $15 free slot play for signing up for the Venetian Grazie card online - not sure if they still offer that.

About 3 years ago me and a pal did what we called "The trailer trash tour"

We started from the Strat and headed south calling in at every casino on route to the Mandalay Bay, We started about 9am and finished at about 11pm, we invested in a $5 all day pass for the Deuce, We picked up every freebie that we could, by the end of the day we had 2 bags each of gash really. We had something like 13 different players cards.

It was just a bit of a different way to spend a day and we did have a laugh. Subsequent visits have done the Boulder strip and Henderson, the off strip casinos either side and downtown. We have only got the NW and Summerlin to have done a 360 of Vegas.

This trip we'll knock off a few in Northern Cal, Lake Tahoe and Reno.

To say we've been in some mucky dives is an understatement, feet sticking to the floor and stuff. But also we've found some gems as well.

The Hacienda at Boulder City, playing $1 roulette (with 25c chips), $1 craps, buying $100 worth and playing towers on the table. Whiskey Pete's at Primm Playing $2 keno whilst eating a decent breakfast, some old granny scolding us cos we ain't playing properly, and giving the keno host our winning tickets as a tip. Amazing the level of service you get when you do that. Most of the tickets were only 50c, we used to pick the selection that you needed 10 numbers up to win the jackpot. I think it was 10, to this day in Vegas it's never been won?

Thanks for all the advice on here, I've spent days reading through all the threads!

We're going to Vegas for our honeymoon in September and are looking for some fairly nice but quite cheap rooms (we're also going to Boston and Washington DC so have had to spend a lot on hotels there). I've seen good weekday rates for Flamingo GO deluxe room ($59), Planet Hollywood Hip room ($60) and Luxor Pyramid Spa suite ($88) has anyone stayed in any of these rooms before? We quite like the idea of a spa room as it is our honeymoon!

I've also seen a good weekend deal for MGM signature at $127 for their Junior Suite, I was wondering how far away from the strip this is and how nice the rooms are? Although I am a little put off by the resort fees at MGM.

    Thanks!

Rooms are lovely at Signature and the bath is to die for, I'm off for 11 nights again in Sept/Oct I cant wait! Not sure if you were only stopping for a few nights if its worth it though due to it being set back, its about a 15min walk to strip. Dont know what deal you have been looking at but we used the SIG927 code. :)

Thanks, that's the code I was using too. We're staying for a week but we wanted to try a couple of hotels so would only be a few nights. Maybe it would be better to stay there another time for a longer duration, I think I would probably prefer to be directly on the strip this time because we'll probably spend all our time in Boston and DC walking a fair distance and Vegas is supposed to be our 'easy and relaxing' aspect of the honeymoon! Thanks for your help, I hope you have a lovely time. We can't wait either! I've been before a few years ago but my fiance hasn't so I'm just hoping that he'll like it!

Thanks, you to am sure you will have a fab time! If you were doing a bit of chilling by the pool the Sig would be a good choice thats why we like it cos we have best of both worlds but if your gonna be out everyday and night your probs best off stopping in one on thats directly on the strip. :)

Cool thanks.....not too bothered about being direct. What are they like compared to Virgin to LA flights and American Airways flights.

Hi, this is my first post, I am going to vegas and LA in August for our honeymoon. I booked my flight back in september but i am now keen to getting the hotel booked, I am looking to stay in the Mirage and ebookers have a week in a strip view room for £580. Is this a good price? it's cheaper than going direct with Mirage but do you think I should hang on? Thanks
