Just a note to say thanks to all contributors on this thread. A lot of the info was most useful on our trip in December, especially about cheap theatre tickets, premium outlets and the transport system. I took my wife and our two kids to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday, she was in heaven with the amount of shopping available to her! The outlets at either end of the strip are great, two pairs of Timberland boots for about $80 inc Tax - what a bargain! Caesar's Palace is a monster of a place and again great if you want to spend a day shopping or gambling, they even have little shows going on as you walk hrough the malls. We stayed at the Platinum Hotel which is a non smoking and non gambling hotel which suited us with kids in tow. It is situated behind Bally's and is a ten minute walk to the strip. The room sizes were great including a small kitchen, two double beds and a sofa bed in the lounge area and a massive bathroom. The staff were great and were always polite and attentive. I would defintely recommend these guys to stay with. I booked a limo through Presidential limosuine hire to pick us up at the airport, this was a great start to the holiday as the kids & wife were most impressed! We did a helicopter trip from Vegas to the Grand Canyon which was great fun although quite expensive for the 4 of us, about £800. Next time we will visit the Hoover dam. We were there for 5 days but we hardly scratched the surface in things to or places to visit, next time we'll double our stay time at least. I'm on here now just to keep the memories fresh as I loved the place. Hope I haven't bored you too much but just wanted share a few things and say thanks.0

MarchHas anyone stayed at the Imperial Palace before and not booked it as a package? I'm thinking of staying there in March with friends but scared of being whacked with these random resort taxes that different sites mention - has anyone had a problem with this before when leaving the Imperial Palace?"He that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of doing everything for money." November / DecemberImperial Palace does not charge a resort fee. There will be 12% tax on all room rates wherever you stay.0

can anyone tell me what the house of blues at mandalay bay is like as a venue, before I book tickets for The Script who are playing there.
I haven't been I'm afraid but did have a peek in when at THE Hotel last year. It looks like a good venue and a bit smaller and more intimate so you should get a good view wherever. It sounds really good to me, Keane were playing there the week after we left, I was gutted to miss that!0 -

As mentioned there are no resort fees or at any other Harrahs properties.
Do you really want to stay at the IP it is cheap for a reason, there are much better hotels for just a little bit more money.
It does have a great location though
You dont have to be scared of any fees, if you book direct you can see the final price before you pay your first night deposit. It will include the taxes and it will also let you know of any resort fee applicable0 -

As said by others no resort fee, sign up for the total rewards card online and re-run your booking as a club member to see if they give you a dicount. Use the card for any gambling you do in any of their casinos and that will build up comps for your next visit.
The Flamingo is another resort just along from the IP you will certainly find the pool, buffet and atmosphere better and it is reasonably priced, again as a Harrahs property no resort fees.0 -
January / Februarydon't think he discounts his tickets, the show is amazing though and well worth the money, we got to have a few drinks and pics with him after, such a fantastic night, can't wait to go back again when we are there in May.
Thanks for the reply gracie10
We met him last January when he was performing outside Caesar's to announce the show, and I've been looking forward to going back to see it ever since.0 -
Hi! we want to book a helicopter ride at the south rim at grand canyon. Does anyone know where there are any voucher codes for any such as pappilion, grand canyon helicopters etc?
Thanks0 -
MayWe have stayed at the Imperial Palace several times booked direct with the hotel. As other have said, Harrah's/Caesars hotels don't have a resort fee, the only addition will be the 12% tax which applies at all hotels.
The rooms are very basic, the location is great. There are much better options, but the IP is OK if you are on a tight budget.
How much were you looking to spend per night, for which dates and for how long?0
