However, Ive been looking at ebookers for June and their package (hotel and flight) prices are coming up pretty reasonable. My question is.....has anyone had any issues doing this through ebookers? Quidco offer 8% cashback has anyone actually recieved payment from them? Also Gold Coast good or bad for a lone traveller?
Also for the record I always fly direct. I tend to travel alone so Im always that person on the end of a 3 seat. I can assure you Im a delight to travel with. I move as soon as you need me to and Im only little so I dont sit on top of you hahaha I fly direct because of various health issues the less time travelling and none of that taking off and landing a couple of times is why I travel direct.
Thanks
I don't know about all the quidco thing, but the Gold Coast is a place I visit regularly when I'm in town. It's a 5 minute walk from the Rio which is not my favourite place in town.
I find it friendly enough it is a favourite of the Oriental community and when they're on the tables they are not so inscrutable, it has 2 of my favourite Chinese eats in Vegas, Ping pang's and a diner style chinese counter all very nice. The buffet is certainly value, with a diner attached.
Clientele is a bit older so quieter and the rooms are good enough but not swanky.
10 minute shuttle ride to the Orleans and about 20 minutes to the strip.
if you do don't forget to get a Boyds card as they do put out good offers for all the hotels in their group.0 -
Starting planning things for our April trip. Booked Mystere through vegas.com with 35% off and fancy a few other shows (Peepshow, Love, a magic show) but haven't quite decided which ones yet.thinlizzyk wrote: »Hi I've been lurking on here for a while. I booked a hotel through ebookers previously and quidco tracked no problem. Never got the payout as I actually cancelled the room not long after but wouldn't expect any problems.0 -

I regularly use quidco - just make sure you delete cookies and clear all internet history - then log in to quidco then link onto expedia from quidco - and it should work no probs0 -

If you fancy a magic show, keep an eye on SmarterVegas - we got free tickets from there in October for the Nathan Burton Comedy Magic Show at the Flamingo and they're still doing the offer at the moment...it currently expires at the end of January but I think there's a decent chance they'll keep extending the dates. It's an afternoon show and only an hour or so, but if you can pick up free tickets I'd definately recommend it!

the coupon is also at broadwaybox, says expiry December 2011

November / DecemberWe like the Gold Coast. It's quite small and friendly. The bathrooms are small, but if you're alone, then you don't have to worry about that. The free gym is basic, but has everything you need. Pool is small. Food choices are good and cheap. Drink prices are reasonable too.
I would have no problems staying there alone. I would feel very comfortable.0 -

Well spotted pennylane, thanks for pointing that out :T I know when we went about 90% of people waiting to buy tickets the day before seemed to have at least some sort of voucher so they're probably all over the place if you know where to look!0 -

Good to see that about ebookers - I'm away for a look now! 8% is good. I've never booked a package with ebookers, only flights. I've booked via quidco with expedia though, and received the cashback, which we then used towards our hire car with netflights, also with cashback :0)
I don't think it's as much as 20 minutes to the strip from either gold coast or Orleans. I prefer the Orleans, the pool looks tiny at the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is of course better location with Rio and the Palms nearby and a little bit closer to the strip. The shuttle tends to just do a continuous loop.0 -

I've used ebookers in the past with no issues at all for flights (and they had the best prices at the time) and yes we got Quidco on it.
I really like the Coast hotels and have stayed at the Gold Coast-their renovated rooms (which I believe is all of them now) are really nice . I like the fact you can stroll to the Palms and Rio from there and the shuttle to the Strip is excellent. Overall I prefer the Orleans to the GC though for the bigger rooms and better food choices and casino but I'd stay at the Gold Coast again if the price was right (and at the moment it is-I recommended it to my friend who is arriving the day before me in Vegas and needs a single night stay in May -it was about $60 for a weekend night)
I also generally fly solo and meet friends there (we're a far flung bunch) yet I prefer non direct -for health reasons. Flying direct I always feel is too long without a proper walk or unfiltered air and I pick flights that give me time to get out through security and outside before flying on-and feel better for it.
