which rooms are you getting in those deals at each hotel?
depends what you're after from your stay. both times we've been to LV, have stayed at the Vdara as it's nice and quiet, lovely big contemporary rooms. it doesn't have a casino and is set back just a touch from the strip, so you don't get randoms walking through and gawping.
Bellagio obviously much bigger and busier, bit closer to the strip (but we're only talking minutes). can't comment on the rooms, but some say they're a little dated now?
getting from Vdara to strip is dead easy. you can either walk directly into the 'back' of the Bellagio, by the monorail stop, and in 5mins you'll be on the strip (plus you get to walk by the conservatory, Jean Philippe and the lobby each time... lovely!). or you can walk through Aria/Crystals... again, done in 5mins, or a 10min stroll.
for us, we love Vdara as it is that bit quieter, the pool is more 'adult' (by that I mean not many kids/families there! nothing risque!!)... so it's more of a refuge from the 24/7 goings on. but some people prefer something bang in the middle of the action.0 -
OK if there is a layer of snow. The Ski resort is at 10,000 ft. At that height you would need an SUV because the road becomes narrow and they don't grit it. I suppose at 7,000ft you would be OK.
We will be going sking (weather permitting) when we are there later this month. Really easy beginners slope and quite cheap to hire all the gear
Top of the top lift is just over 9000'. The roads into the ski area are fine, but you are quite likely to need chains. For the last week you have needed them as they got a dump at the start of the month. Park on the road where its banned and expect a $190 fine, stop on the road to fit chains -expect to be fined. Easiest thing to do is to jump on the bus from the ski resort HQ in Vegas. just off Durango.0 -

Both are the basic rooms for each hotel (althuogh they are called deluxe or something).. It is first visit to LV and someone said to stay on the strip but Vdara looks close enough. Looking at the photos, I favour Vdara as it looks more modern and there is a little kitchenette (I think) which would be handy for tea making etc. x0 -

If you could get a fountain view room at Bellagio, thats what I would plump for.
I have never stayed at either though and prob never will stay at Vdara as it looks like a modern day office block that you would find in any city and is further from the strip ( I dont like walking).
If you want modern then how about Cosmopolitan with a fountain view, and casino of course
I have had a kitchenete once in Vegas but didnt go near it. IMO Vegas is about eating out, I have bought a coffee maker to use in the room though0 -

I dont know if this has been mentioned in the past. But we found there is a bus directly outside Newyork Newyork called the westcliffe airport Express (WAX) It takes you directly to the Premium outlet without any stops. it then carries on to freemont. We also caught it back from Freemont (directly outside of Binions) in the evening and it drops you off between Tropicana and Hooters. We found it less crowded and much quicker than any of the strip buses. Also it is only $2 per person each way. Hope this is of use to someone.0

Interesting option...seems to be classed as a residential route, so 24-hour pass would be $5 too...though for $2 more a 24-hour pass including the SDX and Deuce may be worth it.

MarchHad an offer in from the Orleans, Jan 8th to end of Feb, $35 a night (more at weekends) for up to 4 nights plus a $15 food credit per day, room taxes etc still apply.
Just looked at the site and it shows the stay and dine offer on the front page, didn't trial a booking.0 -
I am flying with Virgin MAN-LAS in January how grim is it down the back, seat pitch, entertainment etc.0
-
November / DecemberI got the same offer from Orleans too. We might consider it for next time.0
