MayGreat trip report, really enjoyed that.
Cyber Monday isn't all it's cracked up to be. Rates are actually higher than I was seeing at the weekend, eg Harrah's now $63 instead of $45...........0 -
OctoberBrilliant trip report Triker brightened my dinner hour up... and what a suprise for your hubby!0

AugustWelcome back Triker and Pebbles.
Thank you for the great trip report, really enjoyed reading it.
What a great birthday surprise!
I am also a fan of off strip casinos, Southpoint and Silverton always seem to do much better on the slots. Have been to M resort once to try the buffet but the queue was too long, we had children that wouldn't wait so just ate at the cafe. Will go back next time without kids as I want to try the buffet and try our luck on the slots.
I was interested to see what you thought of Desert Rose as we had a booking for there but changed (April 2011) to Southpoint but may try it in the future.
Would like to have a nosey at Tuesday Morning shop, does it sell homeware type things? Not entirely sure what it does sell but have read about it somewhere else.
Thanks again for taking the time to post your TR.0 -

Thanks all, love to share my tips as its others reports that I get my ideas from, share and share alike I say.
I would stay at Desert Rose again, mainly for the convinience and we know it. I actually preferred the Carriage House set up but as you get so much more at the Desert Rose I'd go there....did I mention the coffee?:D
However to be fair I am getting a bit bored of being 'that' end of the strip as we never got anywhere near Mirage, TI, Venetian. I managed to pop into Wynn but only to change my money at the casino cage.
Tuesday Morning would be a kind of TK Maxx shop, with high end household stuff from books to luggage, to kitchen equipment including Le Creuset and Staub (love cast iron I do) and christmas decorations, glasses, crafting stuff. They also have some clothes but not many and luxury food items.
I bought a huge bottle of Pure Madagascan Vanilla Essence for $11.99, I think it was orginally from Williams Sonoma.
I noticed there are many designer type products, there's a few stores dotted around the Vegas area but I tend to go to one on Decatur.
Ooh get me, I sound like I know my way round :rotfl:....anyways I forgot to mention that Tiffanys Diner is in The White Cross Drugstore and its cash only. I think our breakfast came to $16.00 ish, we left $20.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Great report, yours is the sort of trip I like to do, in the past I've done the trailer trash tour, basically visit every casino on the strip in one day collecting as much tot as we can and playing all the promos, did the same on Boulder highway all the way from Fremont street to the Hacienda. Find them good fun when you have a newbie on board or someone who has only stayed mid strip.
You highlighted a couple of eating places that I've already made note of. Shame when you headed to Aliante that you didn't try Jerry's Nugget, it's got an ace cafe, meatloaf, potroast and amazing pork chops. Breakfast there has to be steak and eggs, it has a bakery on site that will destroy any willpower.
$14 left, poor planning I say..........0 -

I found some good rates on the cyber monday deal
The fri and sat I have to pay for at Ballys is
Over $300 rack rate
Friends and family =$290
My rate on total rewards is $250
Cyber monday it is $220
I probably wont bother doing anything about it as it would only save me $30 but my Dad taught me to look after the pennies!0 -
we're booked into the flamingo for the first 2 nights next march, the missus has just rebooked it as through the cyber monday deal it is $35 cheaper.0

MarchI have meant to go to Tuesday Morning the last 2 trips...but just haven't made it. In February I will - I really want to check it out, though it sounds possibly quite dangerous!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
-
MayGlad some of you are finding the Cyber Monday deals helpful. I didn't have time to look properly earlier.
Edit - just checked and the rates are lower than when I checked earlier.0
