If you are happy with the price book it and dont look again! If you want to gamble hold off.

I am going on March 27th for £370 with Delta ok its not direct but it is a huge saving.

Delta have had some very good fares recently if you are happy flying indirect, and of course it means you dont have to fly with Virgin, that flight is the pits (but has been done to death on here)

Great advice and is exactly what we have done.....Booked with Delta. May 19th indirect for £530. We were happy with that and the flights times suit us. Now I just don't want to see any prices until we go :rotfl:

BA will have their winter sale starting just after Christmas - so anyone looking to book soon might like to hold off until then. I agree about avoiding VS but if you can get a decent price on the direct BA flight, it's a good option.

Hi everyone! Looking to go to vegas 17th March - 23rd March 2012. I have seen flights direct for £630pp with virgin. Is this a good price? Or do you think virgin might have a sale of xmas and I should wait?? I just don't want the price to go up so not sure what to do!! Any help, much appreceiated!

Have you checked hotel prices for that period? it's smack bang in the middle of March Madness and a lot of universities have spring break during that period...may not make that much of a difference, but would be worth checking if your dates are flexible at all.

  • go via I-15 the strip can be a royal pain in the butt, its nice to walk down but when you have just arrived its nicer to get to the hotel and dump your bags.
to be honest for a first time trip to vegas i would have picked a mid-strip hotel like the paris or PH instead of a downtown place but to each their own.

Good question I 15 should be the quikest but can be backed up if rush hour or accident but then you always have the option to get off it at any exit to the strip if it is backed up.

I actually enjoy driving down the strip when arriving, it gives that warm feeling inside.

Are you staying downtown for the duration or moving midstrip at some point

Thanks, both. We're flying out Boxing Day and will be there until after New Year. We didn't fancy being on the Strip with a car as I imagine it'll be rammed over the main holiday period. We're also staying out at Grand Canyon for two days and will be getting out and about around Las Vegas as much as possible - just wanted easy access/exit to/from hotel.

Just gone and booked trip number 13 to Vegas for next February, lets hope this is the lucky one:D

Flying via LAX with Air New Zealand. Price to LAX was £347, so happy with that. Not booked the internal flight yet, may stay at LAX for the first night due to the late arrival time of the flight.

Thinking of staying Downtown this time, might try out the Plaza to see what the refurbishments are like, but not 100% sure yet.

Boxing Day isn't a holiday in the US, though some people will take it off...but traffic will probably still depend on what time you arrive. If it were us we would probably just take I-15 as it's relatively straight forward...though we may go surface roads instead if it looked like there was quite a back-up. I haven't been on Boxing Day before but it's not a crowded time in Vegas, so the Strip may be OK too...

a quick search reveals that for when we're looking at going (which is mid Sept due to a wedding getting in the way of our trip this year *grrr*) its gonna cost about £690+ doing MAN-->SFO and LAS-->MAN... jeez :(

... think i may wait a little while - got same trip but end of august for £500 last year so fingers crossed!

All hotels have easy access by car as you only need to join the strip at the apropiate junction, and some you dont need to drive on the strip at all.

IMO first trip should be on the strip

We booked 17-24 March next year with BA from Glasgow via Heathrow - £530 or available for £480 Tues - Tues. We booked these during their sale a few months ago.

Hotel prices during March madness have been very high but have started to fall, we booked Golden Nugget for 17 -19 March and Mirage for the rest of the week with Lowcostusa - no resort fees with the Mirage booking too. The week was around £425, hope this helps.....
