    Smartervegas email forwarded :)

I've stayed at CP three times-I've always booked at the Forum Tower level. My first stay I tipped $20 and got upgraded to the Augustus Tower-$20 VERY well spent on the location of the tower alone as there's no casino treking involved to get to your room (and the room was lovely), other times I've stayed in the Palace Tower (great for the pool but a PITA for anywhere else) and once in the Forum Tower . All were fine -well appointed . I don't think I'd pay the Augustus rates but I'd certainly tip $20/$50 (depending on length of stay) for an upgrade without hesitation.

Has anyone had any experience of the Mandarin Oriental in LV?

I have paid only the deposit so far and the travel agent is waiting another month to see if MO are going to start any offers/deals for April. I wanted breakfast included so we didnt have to go out on the Strip to hunt for brekker, (plus I've read good things about the MO breakfast) but she wants me to wait as it works out to be about $500 for a week's breakfasts!

It's the DH's 40th so I wanted to make it special, does anyone know if the $20/$50 trick works at MO, I might try for a suite :D

I think totallybored posted about their experience & thoughts on staying @ MO - i think they're the only person posting on here who has stated they'd stayed there so perhaps do a search of this thread :)

One of the best bits for us is having so many options for breakfast and not being tied in (some days we won't get up till lunch :D ), however if its of use, Cosmo also include a complimentary brunch buffet for international visitors (... well, they used to anyways) :)

Agree 100% - I would never book a deal with any meal included, especially breakfast, unless it didn't cost me anything extra...feeling tied to one place would not be for us...first because there are SO many great options around, and second because many time mid to late trip we don't eat breakfast...either we had a late dinner, or are planning on a big lunch...and third, I wouldn't want to be tied to one place as I would feel like I wasn't getting my money's worth if we didn't use it as much as possible.

If it was a one or maybe 2 night stay, then maybe...but for more than that, no way...not for us, not unless it was so free or so cheap that it didn't matter if we didn't use it. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Totally agree about breakfast. There are so many good places to try that I would hate to be tied to one place.

We had breakfast included at the Cosmopolitan last year, but that was OK as we were intending trying it anyway.

Yes, I stayed at the Mandarin! I personally would choose somewhere else. I only stayed there as it was New Years Eve and I wanted somewhere a little less frantic for a couple of nights over a very busy time.

I was disappointed by the service, it's wasn't great and not what I expected at all (it may sound snobby but I had to open the door myself). In comparison, I stayed at the Mandarin in Singapore a few months later and the service was outstanding, the doorman greeted me by name every time when we left and came back into the hotel and every member of staff couldn't have been more helpful.

The rooms were beautiful I have to say but how long do you spend in your room in Vegas? Vegas has so many decent rooms I don't think that's a reason to choose it. I think if it was anywhere else in the world I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I stayed at Aria a couple of months ago in a corner suite and loved it. It's more or less the same location as MO but you have the casino vibe and more restaurants, bars etc. If you have a search through my old posts I have pics of he suite as well as some of the MO from a post Jan 10.

With regards to breakfast, I'd recommend not including breakfast. I find it a chore to have to be up in time for a hotel breakfast in general never mind in Vegas. You have no idea what time you will go to bed and then have to get up and there are so many places to eat it is unbelievable.

We are up early in LV, usually due to the time difference and we will use the fitness centre so after that we'll be ready to stuff our faces at breakfast.

Will see deal what the travel agent can get for us, thanks for your opinions.

Nice pics totallybored but we are def staying at the MO :)
