Its just bussing people into far flung casinos that wouldnt ordinarily go there, and hoping they lose enough to pay for the BFH.

Makes perfect sense....weird that they don't just say so on the website!

Very tempting indeed.....will definitely be mentioning it as an option on our wedding site for guests joining us in Oct.

    Great find Triker! :T

Over the moon - I am venturing back to Vegas for my 2nd trip in November!

Going with five other old University pals 4th-11th November. Cracking deal for £630pp for 7 nights at Excalibur.

Our flights are indirect via Charlotte from Gatwick. I have one quick question regarding connecting flights as I have never experienced them before. Do we have to reclaim our luggage from the Gatwick flight and check in to the internal Vegas flight or is our luggage automatically transferred onto Vegas flight?

Also our flight lands at Charlotte at 3.50pm and our connecting flight to Vegas leaves at 6.15pm - do you guys think that leaves enough time?

Apologies if this appears a dumb question, just curious!

    What Duchy said ^^^^

on the way back home they will be moved for you , so check in bags at LV and you won't see them again till Gatwick .:)
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Been to Laughlin and wouldnt be in a hurry to go back, I really cant see the point in a day trip there ( so much more to see and do in Vegas). I only went for the Rodeo. Even for free I wouldnt go back.

Ethel M is worth a quick visit, the cactus garden is good, I guess it is only a half day as it is only a few miles from the strip

We've been to Laughlin already and we planned a trip back there anyway, liked the laid back feel.

It was truly lovely to sit next to the Colorado River and eat lunch.

Mind you if we drove we could go and see London Bridge at Lake Havasu.

Agreed it is nice to sit by the river, I guess if you have been to Vegas many times it may be worth it for the free buffet (altho they are so cheap in laughlin anyway) and the hoover dam pic stop.

Primm is also good for the Outlet Mall, with the only Hollister Outlet for a thousand miles or so.

We've been to Laughlin twice...I agree that it's nice to be by the river, take one of the river shuttles and all that...we lost constantly last time we were there though...so we're nervous about going back as we cannot resist the call of the slots!

We saw a roadrunner on the road into the casino area - that was cool...and I think we stopped at the outlet mall there, not a great outlet mall from what I can recall. There is an In and Out Burger by the outlet mall though!

Overall we prefer Primm as it's less of a drive, and better outlet...but no river - and I can see how that would be a big plus for many.

Interesting story in the LVRJ (my hubby reads it regularly :))

    http://www.lvrj.com/business/casinos-cautioned-to-restrict-access-to-player-card-information-114193164.html

    Which included this bit...

The Desert Rose Resort also reported that an "unspecified number" of guests at the hotel between June and October had their debit and credit card information stolen by a malicious software infection.

Messages left with Shell Vacations Hospitality in Chicago, parent company of Desert Rose Resort, were not returned. In a statement, Shell Vacations President Susan Kelley said investigators found the breach occurred within a specific management software program.
The hotel chain, which doesn't operate a casino at its Las Vegas property, was forced to process credit cards through a separate system, while debit cards were no longer accepted for a time.

I wonder what guests planning on paying by debit card and having no CC had to do?

Mmm there's a huge amount of Tripadvisor reviewers who have reported the same, makes interesting reading especially the reassurances by staff that the 'issue' is sorted...it isn't and just how many people are affected.
