Thanks to Ferf and bubble for the MRB. We have used several of the downtown ones so far. We had dinner at Magnolias in the 4 Queens using a 2for1 yesterday. They do a good prime rib dinner there. I had that and Tony had a roast beef sandwich. Yummy.

Can I be nosey and ask what an MRB is please. If it get's me discounts, I'm curious ;)

    Thanks

The MRB is the Members Reward Book from Las Vegas advisor. They are $37 to buy and have a load of coupons in them. All info is on the first page, but here is a link to the list of coupons.

does anyone have any recommendations for websites for villa hire in Las Vegas or surrounding area, planning our 3rd trip next year and fancy villa for a week, LA for a couple of days then back to Vegas for 5 nights on the strip.

    Hi guys

OH and I are off to Vegas next weekend to get married :) We wanted a nice meal afterwards (were thinking top of the world or eiffel tower originally), but will have our 1 year old daughter with us, and I don't think she will be well-received at those places. Anyone have any recommendations? She's not particularly needy - she will sit in a regular chair and eat the same as us; we just don't want to be turned away because she's with us!

    Thanks for your help.

PS any other tips for ways to make our time there special would be gratefully received.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Thanks. I'll be keeping a good look at the weather then. Booked scoot city yday. Groupon expired before we would arrive so we ended up just paying full price but hopefully it will be worth it.

This is our first trip to US. How much is acceptable to tip e.g maid, waitress, taxi etc?

Depends where you are staying but
Maid from $2 per day, more if you have asked for extra items
Waitress anywhere from 10% if OK but not brilliant up to 20% for really good service this is from the PRE-TAX amount (it will be shown on the bill)
Taxi - from 10 - 20% dependant on distance and if they use best routes which on a first trip will not be easy to guage, generally stuck in traffic on the strip is not normally needed unless its a short trip between hotels.
Valet parking may be worth it (if you have a car) with a small child around $3 per time but beware end of show times where 100's of people will be queuing for their cars. (self park is free on strip - charged at many down town)
