Where are you staying? Is a hairdryer not supplied in the room? Why not just take the travel plug? Why take an extension lead too? Charge one item at a time/per outlet if it's a concern.

A top tip has been to take an plug adapter, use an extension lead and then plug all the ipods, phones, computers, etc into the extension lead.

I know it sounds daft but I never like hairdryers in hotels! Think i'm just so used to my own that I can't seem to get the same results with a hotel one (permission to laugh at me, I know it's silly!)
But even if I don't take it i've still got an ipod charger, phone charger and camera battery charger to consider, plus there's 3 girls sharing the room so we'll all have things to charge.
I've been looking at various adapters on Amazon but if an extension lead works fine then I don't need to buy a new one (already got a standard US adapter).

(PS - staying at Bill's Gambling Hall, only 3 weeks to go, hurrah!)

An extension lead will work find with a UK/US adaptor. What you need to check is that the items you are charging are dual or variable voltage. It is normally on the charger, eg mobile phone charger, printed on the plug in tiny writing, eg 100-240 VAC.

Yes its daft and silly :D, Even my wife uses the hotel hair dryers after all doesnt a hair dryer just blow out hotair ?

In answer to your question an extension lead will be fine to charge multiple items and as its a lower voltage the only effect will be to charge slower (unless like Luci says they are designed to charge at 110v)

If you do take your own hair dryer and itsnt dual voltage (there will be a switch on it somewhere if it is) then it will only run at half speed

The hairdryers in Vegas hotels aren't like the crap ones you get in the UK and Europe. All the ones I've seen are very powerful decent ones.

I do appreciate what you say about preferring your own one, but that's just because you're used to it, but because it is better than the hotel ones.

I agree. I live here and people who are coming to visit me don't understand why I have no interest going to the Strip day in day out. I much prefer off Strip resorts/casinos if I do go out and about. There is so much other stuff to do and see.

Just come off the strip after 10 days in Harrahs, genuinely my first and last stay on the strip, my mate was desperate to stay mid strip and like a mug I agreed. Harrahs itself was fine as a hotel, the buffet was pants, only went the once though.

Love Vegas but didn't appreciate how difficult it was to move about various parts on foot, the stretch of pavement between H's, IP & Flamingo was clogged at best with touts, flickers and just people. Best thing between all 3 was Johnny Rockets, great shakes and very decent burgers.

Was supposed to transfer to the Orleans but booked in to the Silverton. Decent location for the last 2 nights $121 for 2nights Inc fees and taxes. 10 minute drive from the outlet and South Point, bit further to M. Free shuttles to airport, outlet and strip. Facilities look good. Sitting here now for about 3 hours and no one has tried bumming a ciggie off me. Feeling relaxed, all I need now is a coffee and a drop out of the machines.

Supposed to log in for Internet but it looks like Starbucks works in the room, sitting here playing fire opals, using the IPad.

    Feeling cool, later

I found sticking your head out of the window at 100f at 60 mph works for me:)

hi all. long time no see :)

for those who are looking at vegas next year, it is much cheaper to fly to LAX. we're looking at march, and we've found flghts £456 direct as opposed to the cheapest flight of £570 both with virgin.

we're going to take the opportunity to goto cali/around la then drive to vegas. quite excited now as i really couldn't afford £570! woooo.
