You must have read my mind!! Thankyou that was exactly what I wanted to know :-)
no worries - just be aware of any time zone changes and you'll be fine...

For us, as we entered Utah (Mountain Time?) clocks moved FORWARD an hour - fine we thought and we went and stayed at Zion having 'lost' an hour of the day.

We then headed further EAST, to Page whereby in Page (and in Page alone it seemed from what the lady there told us), the clocks moved BACK an hour! Meaning we arrived an hour early (and we were back on 'vegas' time)

Heading south from Page, the clocks then apparently skip FORWARD an hour again as you pass through various parts of 'indian' country, but by the time you get to Grand Canyon South, it was back to normal (Vegas time).

However, from previous experience when we have been to the Grand Canyon South in Winter, the clocks move FORWARD for winter (from Vegas time).

So it can be dependant on what time of year it is, and also where you go :)

    Confused?... you will be :D

THe time issues with Arizona have been mentioned here many times. Surprised you would be caught out by them.

The fact is there are a lot of incidents  .......but most of them are not in tourists areas so are not as widely reported.

I only put that on here because it is a tourist area.

A couple of years ago, there was a woman shot (and killed) in her car by a random drugged up gunman (as reported on TV) on Charleston at a junction we had been through earlier that day, so I quite believe there are many of these type of incidents

I was well aware of the winter jump with GC, just not of changes between Utah and Page etc. Never seen that mentioned here.

I should've checked TBH but it didn't even cross my mind!

The lady in Page said she goes shopping in safeway to the south and its an hour behind, and crosses the bridge to the north and its an hour behind. Must be a weird situation to be in :D

This is my tip for everyone who has a bunch of gadgets to recharge. Take a 4 way extension lead with you. I could easily recharge everything from that and only use one socket in the room. We have a computer, 2 x mobiles, 2 x cameras and various other stuff to recharge regularly. With the extension lead it was much easier, and nowhere near as much messing about. I wish I'd done it years ago.

If some of you already do this, why didn't you tell me!

Fistly thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread - i've got loads of great ideas from it.
But I have a question about taking an extension lead - has anyone had any problems with the different voltage in the US? I'm a bit concerned that if I have various chargers and a hairdryer plugged in that it might blow the plug.

    Thanks

Where are you staying? Is a hairdryer not supplied in the room? Why not just take the travel plug? Why take an extension lead too? Charge one item at a time/per outlet if it's a concern.
