If you booked 2 lots of comped nights on their website at 2 different hotels, how would they know you hadnt booked the nights in between at one of their other hotels (or is that a stupid question)

If you are logged into TR, booking that way, it will normally not let you book more than 5 consecutive nights comped, without 3 nights in between...even at different hotels. You could book at one of their other hotels without logging in though.

It may be that the OP is using 2 TR accounts - we've done that before to get around the 5 day thing...book some on mine and some on hubby's.

A lot of hotels show no availability if you check just NYE, but show availability if you choose to arrive a day or two earlier, so I think many are restricting NYE check-ins.

Has anyone got any recommendations on where to stay on new year’s eve, I’ve booked comp stays at Caesars 25th – 30th and Planet Hollywood 2nd – 6th unsure where would be best place to stay for new year as only been before in April and May. And any recommendations on where to go to see the new year in would be greatly appriciated.
Also does anyone know when the mlife offers will be out for December? The offers I have currently expire 1/10/11

We're going to be there for the NYE weekend, flying out on the 28th. 1st night in PH then we're planning an overnight trip to the grand canyon and back to Vegas on the 30th - 4th, I have booked the Platinum for the duration of those days. TBH I'm expecting it to be completely packed and mental, however OHs term dates have given us a full extra week after NY to go away which is a rareity and since neither of us are big on going out at NYE we decided what the heck, prepare to either love or hate it . I can't see us being in Vegas for NYE ever again though

All of the offers I saw on mlife etc were showing sold out availability for the past few months and I have been watching prices on expedia for at least a couple of months now - in the last 2 weeks they've started rising and for some hotels doubled in price. I'd defiinately pick somewhere sooner rather than later and get it booked though :)

NFR is December 1st - 10th. It's always crazy out here then.

With regard to NYE bookings........hotels will generally not accept 1 night bookings and require 2/3 night minimums. Though why anyone would come here then is beyond me....far to busy. Have avoided Strip and Fremont Street every year since I moved here!!!

I imagine cost isnt an issue to the OP as most of the nights are comped so IMO stay wherever you want to on the strip

cost is not an issue but the more I save on hotels the more I have for shopping.

    EDIT
Just done a quick check at MGM and Mirage

MGM didnt have a price for NYE..maybe sold out? Mirage was availaible just to book 1 night NYE at $350

I used one account but put hubby's card details in when booking - I'm still needing a hotel for 30th - 2nd. (should have put that in original post)

Will be booking within the week, I might give Mandalay Bay a ring and see what they can offer me - I keep getting comp offers with freeplay and tickets available I dont know if this is a bit off centre for New Years Eve though

OK - so that's the 3 days between then...

You may have done better to see what it would offer you over NYE? If you could get reduced rates that way...rather than the 25th - 29th comped reservation? Given that NYE weekend will be the more expensive.

We have previously found that sometimes we actually do better doing 2 separate bookings - so one under my account, and one under hubby's account - both with 2 guests staying, but without the other as a companion...than if we book on one account with the other as a companion.
