AugustJust been looking at Scoot City but it just looks to be driving the road through Red Rock Canyon. Am I missing something ? or have they shut the road to cars now ?
We always go out there at some point in the holiday just to escape for a bitHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
AugustGot back last night after a very unpleasant BA flight, it was sweltering for the duration. the crew told me it is a very old AC system and doesnt work very well! I though BA were supposed to have a good product.
Sedona was great, if you like scenery it is well worth a visit.
Gambling improved after my return to Vegas, stayed at Mirage, but played poker at Osheas and Card games at Harrahs, won enough the last couple of days to pay the Mirage in cash which was nice.
Mirage room was comfortable and nicely furnished we had a standard room with strip view (which I got just by asking), but not very big, and has a small bathroom, but of course it is a great location.
Had no problem withdrawing cash on my halifax clarity card at Casino Royale, and was charged $1
Tried Coldstone creamery at excalibur, didnt like the one I had but that was just the wrong choice of cakemixbatter ice cream, tried it again in Sedona and was great.
Went to see LOVE, great music and some great performances, but prefered KA (they are only 2 cirque shows I have seen)
Thats about it, we didnt do much apart from gambling , shopping and eating.
OH yes if I say I am going in August again please talk me out of it..its just to HOT. It seemed much hotter this year than last, it may have been because the humidity was higher some days (about 30%), standing at the crossing between Mirage and Harrahs for what seemed like forever in temps around 110 wasnt much fun.
then on arrival home my cold water tank in the loft has been leaking, so have a wet ceiling, have made a call to my insurers!0 -
Marchwelcome back photome! Flight home sounds awful - that would probably be one of my worst case scenarios I think.
And congrats on the gambling (and eventual success at Coldstone)
We aren't Vegas in the summer people - so I will do my best on the team trying to talk you out of it next time.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AugustForgot to say we went to In N Out and to Steak n Shake at South Point
We had read the secret Menu for In N Out and went a bit mad, ordering a 4 x 2 and a 3 x 3 animal style and well done fries Animal style with neopolitan shakes (all 3 flavours mixed), the server was impressedbut we were stuffed!!!
In N Out was my fav but I think the the burgers are better at Steak N Shake and the shakes come with cream and a cherry on the top
EDIT
And another thing, found some Corn bread in one of the buffets this time so tried it and liked it, so bought a few packet mixes in Walmart to try and recreate at home.
Also brought a HUGE bag of peanut butter M and Ms back0 -
Hiya. I know it's boring to watch sport when you're in Vegas but I'll be needing a sports fix. Does anyone know somewhere likely to be showing the Rugby World Cup matches?I'll be out from 10th-17th September.0

The place to go is the Queen Vic in the Riviera, Brit pub shows all the footy and rugby, early start obviously but a full English is available.0 -
SeptemberThe Crown & Anchor (east Tropicana I think, or might be Flamingo) usually has British football etc on. Try their website and email or call them if you really want to check before heading out there. You can take the local bus for about $1.50.0

MayCrown and Anchor charge an entry fee of, I think, $20pp. I don't think the Queen Vic charges.0
