November / DecemberI think she used the discount code and that was it, no special offers or freebies, VIP check in maybe I think she said. I looked it up and there doesn't seem to be any big sporting events, it says Rod Stewart, Garth Brooks and Selena Gomez are playing on the 9th in Vegas, and a few others. Do they sound big enough for it to be so much? Our 3 nights in the Mirage for November cost us £165 and she said it was nearly double for her dates.0

MarchLowcostUSA are also coming in with much lower prices for these dates, remember she only needs to put 1 person per room as the cost should be for the room not how many are in it.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

SeptemberIts probably expensive as your friends are staying over the weekend and will pay a lot more than a midweek.
November will always be cheaper as its out of season for vegas and will be quite cold.
Im there from 13th sep to 21st and the rates are all over the place at the moment.
Even the Imperial palace wanted over $1100 last week for tue-sun and its never that expensive. The prices are slowly coming down tho.0 -
SeptemberSeptember does seem very expensive this year, we have a booking with Excalibur for 22/09 to 1/10 and was hoping to move somewhere better nearer the time as prices dropped. Checking everyday and they seem to be going up !!! and a lot of hotels showing no rooms for our dates.
I will only book direct so possibly missing out on some offers but after arriving with friends in New York a few years ago to find the agent had not paid the hotel and we had no rooms booked I will not chance it again. I had to lay out over £2k there and then and it took a couple of months to get it back from CC companyTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -

MarchJust had a looksy here at the Convention Calender and there seems to be a few happening in September with large numbers so that may explain the higher room rates....happily not a lot happening in November. http://www.lasvegastourism.com/conventions_sept.htm
Notably 30,000 for Mr Olympia...
Beaten by 120,000 who are attending the Automotive Aftermarket EXpo on the 1st of November, 45,000 dental people in October....gawd...DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

When driving across you can't actually see the HD and you will not be able to stop for photos. You can use the bridge as a pedestrian. After your car is inspected there is a pedestrian plaza inside the Hoover Dam security zone. A parking area for about 70 vehicles is provided near the bridge in Nevada.0 -
AugustRightio, I've booked the hotel, £250 for a week at the Desert Rose, no resort fees, free internet, free breakfast, wine/beer evenings, easy parking and within walking distance of Hooters, Tropicana and MGM. Oh and a full kitchen thingy which I know I won't use or take proper advantage of but I like the option.
Oh aye, free coffee too.
I've tried having a looksy at my players cards offers but apart from one from B Connected I appear to have nowt for my dates.
I'm sat here typing away, poker faced, because all this is for my hubby's surprise for his 50th later this year and HE HAS NO IDEA....:D:rotfl::j
We had a reaaly good rate and booking for Desert Rose for April this year but cancelled and stayed at Bally's instead. I would be interested to hear what its like if you wouldn't mind reporting back on it. Are there still reports of credit card problems? It wasn't because of this we cancelled, one of our party had walking difficulties at time so thought strip would be easier. Booked it through a Black Friday offer last November.
Nice 50th gift!0 -
what happens when you drive down to Hoover Dam now? there used to be parking on both sides of it - i take it that's still there and you're just not allowed to drive over the dam between the two?0
