Is loving the rain and cool temps.......plus the savings on the air con :) Electric bills of $400 + per month are deadly.

One of these years "green" technology will come to LV. Hardly any houses (including new builds) utilise ground source heat pumps and when you see more evacuated tube or PV solar panels in the UK than in LV you know something is seriously "wrong".

how annoying the gf brought scoot city for me 2 weeks ago at full price

We also had booked before groupon offer came out but had managed to get a 30% off deal. We did the tour last Tuesday and I would have paid full price for it. We thought it was excellent, really good fun and a bit different. As Luci mentioned you do drive on roads and can be a bit scary as I don't drive in Vegas so to do it on a little scooter was slightly daunting but the guides are great.

Stayed at Cosmopolitan for a night on Wednesday through the netflights deal. Have to say best hotel room I've stayed in in Vegas. Comparing it to MB (750 suite,) PH ( fountain resort), Paris (P room), Bally's and MGM(standard rooms). We had a 1 bed on 29th floor in west tower ( asked to be away from nightclub), it's very modern and the bed is like sleeping in a cloud.

Didn't want to leave the room but dragged ourselves over to Mon Ami. V nice meal on patio. Scallop and snail starters followed by filet mignon, lovely. However somebody mentioned a snake guy on the strip he was right outside restaurant all the time we were there, i dont have a fear of snakes but imagine it would spoil your meal if you did!

Holiday is going far too quick......and raining today!

Forgot to say about Cosmo at check in they tried to tell me I had booked a studio terrace room when I had booked a 1 bed so take proof of booking. They were apologetic but not convinced they werent tying to fob me off with a smaller room. I know Photome has a similar booking with netflights.
  • LOL Bubble113....thanks for the offer of those Virgin flights but the answer is NO!!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay though. Hopefully the weather will pick up ;) When are you UK bound? I go back for a few weeks on Thursday......doing the V Festival and then a week in France with family.

Mon Ami is a long time favorite of mine, my best friend had her wedding reception here :) Enjoy the rest of your stay.

P.S. You have to clean the pool when you stay at my house and feed the dogs, is that OK?

We got the free breakfast at Cosmo and it wasn't part of our booking. The girl at check in just said, "I see you have a free breakfast. Charge it to the room and it will be taken off at check out" so I didn't argue. I have read since that they were doing it for all overseas visitors.

Did ask about that but she said it depended on who it was booked through/type of package etc. I do think I could have pushed it but didn't which is not like me, being on MSE getting freebies should be a given!

Did have voucher for $10 off at spice market so walked over there for brekkie....$5.99 each not bad but not free.....

Flights 11 months in advance, so ages yet. Hotels soon after that unless you want a package.

Never rented accomodation, but if you do I would recomend at least one night on the strip in a Vegas hotel/casino

Thanks for this, I thought it was 10 or 11 months for flights but wasn't sure about hotels :)

The rented house would be for my family/wedding party depending on what everyone wanted to do, so 5+ people. After the ceremony the OH and I would stay on the strip for another 2 weeks or so. (the honeymoon!)
Thinking about it groom's family and other guests may want to stay on the strip as they haven't been before...

    Car rentals wouldn't be a problem :)

Bubble113, thanks for those website tips, I'll be having a look at them this week.

MariaC, thanks for sharing your wedding plans, hope all goes well. I am looking forward to hearing how it all goes!

Thanks again for your pointers guys, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions soon :D
