SeptemberHey all, I know this question has been asked all the time, and there are as many answers as askers, but the missus and I are off to vegas for honeymoon in september, and she thought we would need more than the $3000 - I'm aiming to have (we are there a week) She's not a massive gambler - prefers a bit of a flutter, we practiced as a local casino and we made £20 last an hour on roulette, lots of fun, then I made £10 last 2 hours on blackjack (£2 a hand) - She's concerned we won't have enough to do all the trips and see "lots" of shows... but then again theres only so many hours in the day
I understand we will need to separate our funds, and entertainment WONT include gaming money (although going my jean scotts "more frugal gambling" many have this as one pot of cash) very good read by the way.
I think $500 a day should be more than enough? Tips, 2 meals and a couple of "pit stops" $1 drinks (tips) gambling on slots, the video slots pay less, but give small "wins" more frequently so we should last a bit on these, and ill try to find a downtown BJ table to last our time on...
I guess I'm seeking reassurance. She's not greedy or anything like that, I think we are equally anxious as never been before!

AugustFerf I am really confused now about this CC ATM charge. I normally use the ATM in Casino royale or the one in Walgreens (near MGM) but have no idea if they mention extra charge for CC withdrawals.
Wouldnt someone on here have mentioned it before now? unless of course no one (except Luci) has used a CC to withdraw funds0 -

Roullette tables gnerally have $10 minimums some higher and the odd ones lower so making £20/$30 last an hour would take some doing. Likewise blackjack/card tables have $5 minimum bets so could be $20/$25 a hand depending on what you are playing.
Having said that $500 a day is over £300 a day which is way over my daily budget. Vegas is a cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.0 -

Realistically set out what shows you want to see - and book them before you go - 7 nights for example...personally i wouldnt want to be doing more than 2 or 3 max...especially on your 1st trip.
For me on a 1st time trip - id plan a Cirq show and one other - maybe a band/or Penn and Teller (really depends what you are in to) - remembering 1st nght you'll be shattered, id also plan a night downtown, 2 shows planned and theres 4 nights gone already. Are you looking to do Grand Canyon? that will add quite a bit on if you are planning it.
Cash wise - we arent gamblers (odd $20 on slots), and this trip we are taking $200 each per day - but have already booked and paid for Bealtes Love (cirq show), Scoot City Tours (red rock canyon) and an LA in a day tour. We also have a day at a wedding when we are there, where spends will be minimal...my husband is freaking out and having so many things pre booked tho! He hates planning.
I would say $500 is fine - but look into a little more what type of meals you want e.g. do you want a special honeymoon meal somewhere really nice etc, and possibly take a credit card for odd splurges like that.0 -

I am ace at finding my way around things, and I have tried high and low to find a way of getting us some NV Id because of all the free things locals get into, but no joy whatsoever. Only thing I get is local rate yearly subscription to the golf club. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Thanks for that. Felt really dumb asking but some friends are visiting and wanted to know. As I rarely go to clubs I wouldn't get the chance to ask there. Just glad I don't have to pay the charges
Yep you've got no hope of getting an NV ID without valid SS number etc. Used to be easier but NV have tightened up regulations (along with many other states) to deal with illegal immigrants etc.0 -

Has anyone used the MGM-Mirage 2 free buffets a day vouchers promo from a few weeks back? Interested to see if you get handed vouchers or if you just charge them to your room.
Apologies if this has already been covered, I couldn't see anything on it.0 -
