AugustNo, I just checked my statement when we were away we withdrew $2700 and got charged £2.12 in interest. This was due to making payments via wifi soon after the withdrawals
Thanks for the response but like Ferf says ..are you sure, as according to your statement you were not charged any fees from the ATM, I have never found a fee free ATM in Vegas...where is it?0 -
AugustHow does the exchange rate comapare as well with ones at the top of best buy tables?? I dont want to get it even if there are no fee's but the exchange rate is poor.0

MarchIt is the top of the best buy tables.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-moneyDoes remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayI have posted a question about withdrawing cash on a halifax clarity card in Vegas versus a prepaid card on the currency thread.
I now understand that withdrawing on a CC from an ATM in vegas can incur mega charges.
Has anyone on here withdrawn cash on their Clarity Card and found that to be the case?
I made 2 withdrawals of $800 each using the Clarity card at Casino Royale. $801 shown on my statement with the $1 fee. Interbank rates with no loading which no pre-paid card can match.
I transferred an amount equal to the first withdrawal into my Clarity card account the same day and was charged minimal interest even though I expected to pay 3 days interest which would still have been next to nothing.
However be aware that if you have purchases on the card that have been statemented, any payment will go towards them first so you would need to pay off any amount that was statemented plus the cash withdrawal to pay the minimum interest.0 -
JulyWell last day here in Vegas for a week, heading to Cabo tomorrow for our honeymoon. We seem to have done lots in the last 11 days, but to most people it would be fairly boring I guess so I won't go into too much detail...
Have had a squillion In and Out's (mmmmmmm :-),Hot & Juicy Crawfish (great meal if you don't mind the way it's served) went to see Soundgarden at The Joint in HR last night (awesome venue, if you have the chance to see a concert there definitely go for it), been on a Helicopter Strip tour, flew to South Rim of Grand Canyon, Afternoon Tea @ Mandarin Oriental, Stone Cold Creamery (FAB ice cream) as well as all the outlets and Town Square. Also discovered Target stores, had some grat bargains in there including Paul Frank stuff and OPI nail varnish which were both much cheaper than elsewhere, oh and the obligatory stock up on sweets and sauces at Walmart....oh yeah, we got married last Tuesday too :-)
Has been a blast so far, hectic having 12 friends/family here so looking forward to our beach week of doing nothing except being pampered. Sex & The City slots have been pretty good to me, which is rare for me as I am really not a gambler of any kind.We return to Vegas on 1st August for another 4 days to stay in the Mandarin so planning on doing more Strip based stuff then (to be honest we did most of it last year though so this year has been a very different trip for us)
If anyone has any Q's please feel free to message me---off to The Palms now for some lunch action :-):staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
AugustThanks Luci so it looks like there is no difference between CCand DC withdrawals at Casino royale.
I wont use my clarity card for purchases, I will use my PO card0 -

OctoberCongrats on getting married Wizbit, what was the afternoon tea at the Manderian like, oh and how much was it?The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

OK really dumb question but I'm an ex-pat living in Vegas. I get into nightclubs free as a 'local' lady with my NV ID. Do any of you know if all ladies get in free or is it just us lucky locals??0

MayI was just reading on the other thread about high charges for withdrawing using a credit card. I'm wondering if that is from the machines you see on the casino floor which say something about credit card cash advance? I wouldn't use one of those and the normal ATM worked fine.
I can only speak for that one machine, but I used it twice no problem.0
