MarchAny been in Jan?
My wife wants to go somewhere for her birthday (4th Jan).
What's LV like at the start of the year?
I realise it's not as hot as midsummer (which might be a good thing). But I'm guessing Nevada never gets that cold in the day?
Also she likes to swim, I see that all the hotels close their pools from something like Oct to April, but are there any with indoor pools where you can swim (ie, that are not just full of people standing around drinking getting in the way?).
Thanks for any info.
Average high for 4th Jan is 13C, average low is 2C - but obviously averages are just that, could be warmer or colder...so not pool weather...I don't think any of the strip hotels have indoor pools.
And the cold months can be cheap - but you have to be mindful of conventions and big sporting events - the biggest convention of the year starts 10th Jan...and hotels will definately not be cheap during CES. If you time your trip right - to miss the NYE crowds and the CES crowds hotels will be reasonable...but a day or two either way will see hotel rates much higher than average.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

CES !!! I'd forgotten all about that !!
Humm, I think if I vanished there I might just end up coming back on my own... The thing is, is a visit to CES worth it0 -
MarchI think CES would be cool in some ways - but not being eligible to attend - since it is not open to the public and I don't work in the industyr, and given the crowds I would never even consider going during that period.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

OctoberFor anyone thinking of buying an iPad2 while in Vegas, instead of traipsing around the 3 Apple stores to be told there is no availability, do what I just did, buy one online at the Apple store and have it delivered to your hotel. Best if you have a Clarity or Post Office CC as there is no loading for the dollar conversion. I used my PO card, no problems at all. There is a delivery lead time of 1-3 business days, free delivery, and you won't have to pay the 9 percent LV sales tax. $499 net (£311) can't be bad.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I'm being lazy - which model is that? I'm getting more and more interested, but I still don't think we would use it enough to justify the price tag. And did your hotel charge you for handling the package? I have read before that some hotels will levy a fee for stuff like that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
November / DecemberGood idea Stoneman. Some hotels charge for receiving packages though.0

I never thought that a hotel would charge for that, I mean most strip paces are supposed to be 5 star hotels and that would be part of the included service in such high end establishments. Obviously you would have to phone your own hotel to find out.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
